With all the hype surrounding JJ Gabriel it seems appropriate to mention club legend “Big Norm” Norman Whiteside who kindly sent me this team sheet from 1981, Norman was just 15.
Norman holds records as the youngest player to take part in a FIFA World Cup, the youngest player to score in a League Cup and FA Cup final, and the youngest player to score a senior goal for Manchester United. Winning 38 caps for Northern Ireland, he played at the 1982 and 1986 World Cups, and also helped his country to win the last British Home Championship in 1983–84.
We wish JJ the very best and perhaps see him feature in this year’s FA Cup and join Norman in the record books of United elite.

When football became irrelevant.
24 years Ago Following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Manchester United postponed its Champions League match against Olympiacos.
I traveled over from Atlanta to Athens that fatal day and alarmingly was on one of the last International flights to leave the USA.
It was several days before I was able to fly back to America.
Compensation for traveling fans: When the match was eventually rescheduled for October 10, Manchester United provided £150 in compensation to every fan who had bought a ticket to help cover their travel costs.
I traveled over again 18 days later.
I have never visited Ground Zero since 2001 and will probably never wish to revisit.

Overrated if your not a United fan but if you were lucky enough to watch David as a Youth Team Player and watch him make his debut in the Champions League and progress to play 394 times, score 85 goals and 120 assists which is a record of assists not to mention another record 18 direct free kicks.
A proud Englishman who made 115 International caps (59) Captain.
My Greatest memory of Sir David Beckham is the two corners he took in injury time to help United win the Treble.
The connection between Sir Robert Charlton and Sir David Robert Joseph Beckham is more than David’s middle name but a journey that started at The Bobby Charlton Soccer School and with a word from Bobby to The Manchester United Scouting system “watch this boy” he later signed a Youth training scheme at the age of 14.
Arise Sir David
You Certainly Did That!
Thank you for All the memories, meeting you and your Mum and Dad who sacrificed Everything for you to join their beloved United and make you the Icon you are today.
