In 2024, the Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) established the Navy Race Organization (NRO) to create a flagship race that raises the Navy’s national visibility, modeled after the Marine Corps Marathon and Army Ten Miler.

The Carry Forward 5K at NTC Park at Liberty Station.
Some races are about the clock. This one is about who shows up. Veterans, service members, families, and civilians out on a Saturday morning because the Wounded Warrior Project community asked them to.
A Ten-Miler on the San Diego bayfront is a long way from a 5K at Liberty Station but the reason people run them is the same.
Good to be on site and to see this many people out there.

Every branch is in. As of 2027, the Navy Ten-Miler joins the Armed Forces Series Challenge as the sixth and final race, completing the series.
Marine Corps Marathon. Army Ten-Miler. Air Force Marathon. Space Force T-Minus 10-Miler. Coast Guard Marathon. Navy Ten-Miler.
Six races, every branch, one series medal. We are the only West Coast stop, and we run on San Diego Bay on February 28.
