“Yesterday, I was commissioned into the Army as a Second Lieutenant by Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Gray. Him giving me my oath, marks a special moment, for many reasons.

For me, this is my testimony. God is doing work you may not ever understand, until you walk through the door that He has opened for you. God does not close doors, He opens them. Sometimes that door is leading you away from people, places, and things that are no longer meant for you, or never were.

May you give yourself grace in all the moments you choose not to walk through that door, but Trust, when you do- God will be there. He always is.

If you know me, you know that when I make a decision, I go max. Every finite aspect is assessed through a lens of love and justice.

The world can come for my character, reputation, titles, successes, and insecurities- that’s the devil at work. Those things have no power over my heart- that is God’s love.

While I am imperfect, and will fall short at times- I will take accountability for those moments. Being instilled with the Army values when I was enlisted felt like a natural framework- and I am confident in my ability to uphold LDRSHIP Army Values- I pray that God leads me, to always do what is just, and strengthens me, to be unshaken.

I will

✅Loyalty- Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, the Army, and my unit.

✅Duty- Fulfill my obligations and carry out tasks to the best of my ability, without taking shortcuts.

✅Respect- Treat people as they should be treated, fostering dignity and cohesion.

✅Selfless Service- Put the welfare of the nation, the Army, and my subordinates above my own.

✅Honor- Live up to all Army values in every action I take.

✅Integrity- Do what is right, both legally and morally.

✅Personal Courage- Face fear, danger, or adversity (both physical and moral).
