Cub Scouts Pack 117 Cicero, NY Cub Scout Pack 117 is for ALL boys and girls in K-5. We meet Tuesday nights, 6:30pm, at the Cicero United Methodist Church. We are welcoming and inclusive. Hiked?

Pack 117 has been proudly serving local youth since 1966. Cub Scout Pack 117 is located in Cicero, NY. Meetings are Tuesdays at 6:30pm. We meet at Cicero United Methodist Church (8416 Brewerton Road Cicero NY 13039). Pack 117 prides itself on being active, inclusive, and well organized. We strive to provide a top notch and rewarding program for all those that join us! Our Pack runs year round! Pack 117 is open to ALL boys and girls in grades K through 5. Do you like to learn by doing? This is just the place. You can learn to tie knots, set up a tent, shoot a bow and arrow (archery). Have you ever cooked a meal on a campfire? Sent a secret code to a buddy? Built a birdhouse? Have you been to the local police station and talked to the policemen on duty? Or visited the fire station and sat in the driver's seat of the pumper truck? Or visited the local TV station and sat in the news anchor's chair? These are some of the places you might go with your den or pack. Build a pinewood derby car and race it on the track, build a sailboat or trimaran and race it in the raingutter regatta, or build a spaceship and race it to the stars in the pack space derby. Each time you complete an accomplishment or learn a new skill, you will be rewarded. Sometimes the reward is a belt loop, a pin, or a patch. Sometimes it is a smile on your parents' faces to see you grow and learn.

More fun facts about the Sun from NASA!

The Sun goes through ups and downs in activity like solar flares. It gets more active with more sunspots and then less active over a period of 11 years. This is called the solar cycle.
The Sun has been getting slowly brighter since it was born. A couple of billions of years ago, the Sun was a little dimmer than it is now.
The Sun contains almost ALL of the material in our solar system. 99% of it. All the planets, asteroids and comets add up to less than 1% of the total.
The Sun is so far away that it takes light about 8 minutes and 20 seconds for it to get to us – and light is the fastest thing in the universe.
