Name : Andrea LeMasters

I’m Andrea! 😊 My Pilates journey started 10+ years ago while in college—I stumbled upon Mat Pilates at a small studio by campus and instantly fell in love with it.
It wasn’t until about six years ago I finally took my first reformer class—Getting on the reformer was such a different feeling and I immediately knew this was something I wanted to continue practicing and deepening my understanding of.
In the fall of 2022, while between full-time jobs, I started my BASI Pilates teacher training. Shortly after that I started teaching classes here at 12th Street and haven’t looked back!

One of the main things that continues to draw me to Pilates are the PEOPLE—to be able to come to a class and have such a wide range of ages between the students made me realize it was not just something I could do while I was younger, but could continue to practice so long as my body allows.  I love having the opportunity to help students continuously improve and deepen their own practice and achieve breakthroughs within the movement.

While I only teach a few nights a week, I also place a high importance on my own personal practice—so you will most likely catch me taking classes with you all!!
I love being a constant student and learning from all the other great instructors we have here!!🌞

From Cydney! I actually still remember the first time Andrea came into the studio to take class. It was a small class and she asked questions during class which I LOVED! She wanted more!!! She said it here in her bio… “you will often see her taking class right next to you”…. I admire this so much about Andrea and you can see it in how she moves! One of hardest parts of being an instructor sometimes is our own personal practice. She embodies being a student FIRST which then translates to being a GREAT instructor!!

Name: Brenna Lyons

My name is Brenna. I found Pilates a few years ago while looking for a form of exercise that would help with injury prevention for running. Pilates soon became the only form of exercise I’ve loved as much as running (maybe even more)! Not long after starting Pilates, I began taking classes at 12th St and then started my BASI comprehensive training. I immediately loved how it was a form of movement for everyone and how great I’d feel after taking a class.

I began teaching Pilates about two years ago while working full-time as a middle school teacher. After having my son Nolan this past May, I decided to make Pilates more of a full time focus, and it’s been so fulfilling. The community at 12th St is incredible and makes my job so fun! I’ve been able to learn so much from Cydney and the other instructors at 12th St. I feel very grateful to have had the opportunity to teach here!

And shout out to all my clients who put up with the Buffalo Bills sweatshirts all season 😉

From Cydney! Brenna has been such an amazing addition to the studio and we are going to be so sad 😞 to see her leave us. I think Brenna has us all fooled with her quiet nature! Her skills & background as a teacher combined with her athletic background are what make her a fantastic instructor for the beginner all the way to the advanced! We are going to miss you and Nolan so much but we are beyond excited for your next chapter. 💙💙💙💙 Buffalo blue this one time. 😉😉

Name : Sarah /

Hey, I’m Sarah. A little bit about me - I earned my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Northern Kentucky University and began my career working in corporate fitness and wellness, along with personal training and group fitness. A coworker told me about a Pilates reformer class where she did what sounded like feet in straps and mermaid stretch. I didn’t know anything about it, but I told her I’d give it a try.
I walked into my first class expecting it to be all fun and games, but then I tried Long Stretch on a single blue spring and immediately crumbled like a paper bag. Then came Elephant Stretch, and things did not go much better. Pilates was way harder than I thought, and I
realized I was way weaker than I expected—so naturally, I had to get better. But I noticed that I left feeling taller, and my back didn’t feel achy after standing at work that day.
That mix of challenge and reward was a perfect combination to me. Pilates is both humbling and uplifting and I love that about it. After that, the real education began and I completed my
mat and equipment training—including reformer, chair, barrels, tower, and trapeze—through Balanced Body Education.
I’ve been teaching since 2012, mostly as a side hustle at first. In 2020, between the pandemic
and the birth of my daughter, Pilates became my full-time focus.

In April 2021, a couple of referrals led me to Cydney and 12th Street OTR, where I continue to teach today, as well as
12th street Covington.
My classes are fitness-based and focused on building strength and stability, as well as mobility
and flexibility. Expect posture work to keep you standing tall, planks, push ups, and of course, feet in straps.

From Me (Cydney)
Sarah has been such an amazing addition to the studio and such a consistent source of knowledge for our Clients and Instructors. She came to the studio 5 years ago and has been a true source of growth for the studio, our clients and Pilates in Cincinnati. 🩷🩷🩷

Name : Elizabeth / Bizzy /

My name is Elizabeth. I fell in love with mat pilates during the covid-19 lockdown. After years of an unhealthy relationship with exercise and eating disorders, Pilates was the first form of movement that didn’t feel like punishing my body- so I stuck with it! For a long time practicing Pilates was the only time I felt present in my body. I finished my first reformer class at 12th St and knew I had found exactly where I was meant to be. I felt safe and at home in myself. Thanks to guidance from Cydney I started my BASI teaching journey at Pilates Indy with Katie and had never felt so inspired and motivated. I threw myself into my practice and less than three months later I was officially on the 12th Street schedule.
Teaching Pilates has truly helped me become the person God created me to be. I pride myself on creating a welcoming and fun environment for clients, whether it’s your first class or your five hundredth I am so excited to get to know you on and off of your reformer. I would describe my teaching style as “fun and cute!” (iykyk) I like to blend the classical repertoire with athletic movements to keep clients both mindful and engaged. My goal is to share the benefits Pilates has given me: to help people feel safe and at home in themselves, and hopefully chitchat and giggle along the way!
The amazing 12th Street community is something I am truly amazed by and I couldn’t be more thankful to Cyd for giving me a place to truly be myself and share the gifts God has given me! The wonderful clients and friends I have met along the way have taught me love, kindness, and grace in unimaginable ways. I love you!!
xoxo, Elizabeth

From me (Cydney)
Elizabeth walked into the studio after her trainings and told me… “I want to teach ALL the time!” I have had other instructors tell me that but wow did she mean it! Elizabeth has been a true blessing to the studio and me. She is such a passionate, hard working, girls girl who keeps me young. She is a force who is not afraid to ask for what she wants and makes things happen. 💕💕💕 (out of room for more)

Instructor Spotlight 🔦🔦🔦🔦🔦🔦

Clay Gaddis

Clay has been teaching at 12th Street / Core since 2013! 13 years of him guiding us with his tiny tiny tiny movements/adjustments that take a “fundamental” movement to the next level. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

My (Cydney’s) story of how Clay came to us!

Clay is originally from Mississippi finding his way to the studio when he signed up for our first BASI instructor training course. He found Pilates at a studio in Alabama that was right next to a coffee shop he managed. ☕️☕️☕️

He walked in to the studio a few hours before the course began. He said he needed a place to live… OTR was different then in that you knew everyone. I told him my friends lived in a building across the street and they had an open unit. He signed a lease and hour later!

He moved in and lived across the street from the studio while he was going through the course. Which meant he also basically lived in the studio and was always practicing and fine tuning his Pilates skills. We both had a lot of time to just hang out and do Pilates!

While teaching Pilates and with his background in Coffee he managed Bloc Coffee in Price Hill. Currently now roasting for Deeper Roots and teaching in the mornings in OTR!

Clay’s Sunday Mat class was a staple class when we were on Vine St! Please ask him to come teach us mat again. 😉😉😉

While Clay has been an amazing instructor for the studio for all these years he is also a great friend, talented guitar player, loyal, dedicated, and mysterious (in the best way)!

We are grateful for you and this ride you have been on with us from the very beginning! Thank you for being a part of it all.

💗💗💗💗
