She came in with previously hilighted grown out 4 inch roots. She wanted something natural looking and lower maintenance, but keeping some blonde “something closer to her natural color” is what she kept saying. She booked for a full balayage and cut. I balayaged high and lowlights, brought up the highlights through the 4 inch grown out roots and then matching her natural and bringing that color down to break up the previous heavy highlighted hair on the ends. This service took a little over 3 hrs with timing, technique and products the total came to $320.00. This client curls her daily so this balayage technique is ideal for her, bc curls allow the hair to turn and wind showing the depth underneath. She absolutely loved the end result and so did I.

Amazing gray transformation 🤘❤️ Extremely impressive work from @emchenhair @goldwellus • Most grey transitions take me about 8-10 hours, but this project took over 12 hours - this was due to the intricacies of trying to match her natural “salt & pepper” grey pattern as closely as we could which required me to separate the “salt” from “pepper” strand by strand. Also, there were a few extra obstacles in her hair that I had to carefully work around due to a previous grey transition attempt & previous highlights. It was 12+ hours of non-stop work. Like actual non-stop. As soon as I finished foiling one section, I had to start dropping the previous section, so there was never a full processing time I could sit or take a break. This is why grey-transitions are one of the most labor intensive, thus most expensive services in the salon. Not to mention the 10 bowls of lightener (20 scoops), 7 bowls of color of used (That’s literally 4.5 pounds of product for one head!), an insane amount of foils, backbar treatments, K18, etc. But it’s all worth it in the end to see this smile & this SMOKESHOW of an end result! 🔥 My client here was an absolute trooper throughout the whole process. Thank you to this beauty for rallying ALL DAY with me & for your trust in me, and thank you to @sadie_strands for helping me keep my work space & life in order all day 🙌💪🥰 Formula: 🤍 Lightener (the “salt”) - Oxycur & 7vol to 25vol at the very end 🖤 The “pepper” - Goldwell TC Equal parts 5A & 6A + 1 gram of pearl blue pure pigment, 10vol ✨ Toner: SEQ 10T, a capful each of 10VV & 10AG done in a “@k18hair sandwich” #emchenhair #greytransition
