Last week, Chicago Warriors Coach Henry Szumal was diagnosed with Leukemia.

Henry began coaching with the Warriors in 2017 and has made an enormous impact on thousands of ballplayers. He excels as a coach, an instructor, and a teacher of the game.

Henry has also served as the Lane Tech Pitching Coach for the past decade. Graduating from Lane in 2009, Henry has influenced hundreds of young men throughout his time at his alma mater.

He is a rare type that is able to balance the complexities of high-level competition and the patience of working with youth teams. His good-naturedness, professionalism, and humility are major contributors to his coaching success.

I first met Henry when he began coaching my sons, Louis and Joseph, in high school. He is a great coach, father, and man. He has been an integral part of the Warriors program and my friend for the past 11 years.
