Reason #10 we love Dance Jamz:

Helen said, "The class time is very convenient."

Our classes meet on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:30 PM. The class is about 50 minutes long.

We'd like to thank our class participants who shared with us why they love Dance Jamz classes.

In case you missed any of the reasons, here is a recap:

1. Our classes are very affordable.

2. The class participants are friendly.

3. Being in a group setting challenges you more than you might challenge yourself.

4. The location has lots of free parking and there is a lot of space to work out in.

5. You get a variety of dancing, cardio, toning and stretching in our classes.

6. The music is fun and upbeat.

7. It is a fun workout that will lift your mood.

8. Dancing is good for your mental health.

9. Our workouts are good for all ages and fitness levels.

10. The class time is convenient.

Join Michele at the Sayler Park Recreation Center tonight at 6:30 PM for our Extreme class.
The class will include cardio, strength, and toning exercises. Bring a mat or towel and light hand weights if you want.

Don't forget that new participants can attend classes for free in May!

Reason #9 we love Dance Jamz:
Our classes are for everyone!

“I really enjoy Dance Jamz because it’s great and works for people at any level of fitness,” said Natalie.

Ronnie said, “I like that I can go at my own pace.”

Our regular class participants have ranged from age 12 to age 82! Some people in our classes have worked out for years on a regular basis and some people are just starting a workout program. We encourage everyone to work at their own pace, and we give modifications for all levels of fitness.

Does Dancing Improve Memory?

Reason #8 we love Dance Jamz:

“It is great for your mental well being, “ said Debbie.

Studies have shown that dancing can improve your mental health.

If you’re looking for a fun-filled way to stay active, improve your physical health and your memory, Dance Jamz may be the answer!

improvingyourmemorytechniques.com Does dancing improve memory? If you’re looking for a fun-filled way to improve your memory, dancing may be the answer. Richard Powers, an instructor at Stanford University’s Dance Division, summarizes some research that looked at the effect of various types of physical activity on mental functio...

Reason #7 we love Dance Jamz:

It is a fun workout!

"I enjoy Dance Jamz because it lifts my mood and always has me leaving happy," said Natalie.

Working out releases endorphins, adrenaline, serotonin and dopamine, which all work together to make you feel good. Studies show that when you workout with others you feel calmer and enjoy it more. Some of our participants even smile while working out!

Reason #6 we love Dance Jamz:

Erin said, “I love the songs.”

Sometimes the playlist in a workout class can help energize you and make you work harder. Sometimes it can drive you crazy and make you not want to take the class again. For our Dance Jamz classes, we try to use a variety of upbeat music incorporating different music genres. We even take requests and song suggestions from our participants!

Reason #5 we love Dance Jamz:

Barb said, "The workout is a nice mixture of cardio/weights/stretching."

We have two different types of classes, and we rotate them so that participants who can only attend a certain day of the week can still experience both classes.

There is variety in our workouts. You won’t feel like you are always doing the same thing. Some classes focus more on dancing, while others use hand weights and involve floor work. The choreography is designed to work every muscle and give you a good cardio workout. We also finish every class with a nice stretch.

Reason #4 we love Dance Jamz:

Janet said, "The location is great, lots of parking and a big space to work out in."

It can be very stressful to try to attend a class that is in a difficult location to get to, you're not sure where you will park, or you have to pay for parking. It can also be frustrating to be in a class setting so small that you worry about running into the person next to you.

The Sayler Park Recreation Center is conveniently located on Home City Avenue. It has a big parking lot along with on street parking (all for free), and our class is held in the basketball gym, so there is always plenty of room.

Reason #3 we love Dance Jamz:
Our classes are very affordable.

Class participant Ronnie said, “I like the Sayler Park Dance Jamz class because it’s convenient, a low key atmosphere and affordable.”

We don’t want the cost of our classes to get in the way of people attending them, so we keep our class prices as low as possible. In fact, the price has not increased in five years!

We also know that sometimes you can’t attend class as regularly as you’d like due to changes in jobs, family obligations, injuries, etc., so our ten class passes do not expire.

We also offer free classes at various times for both new and regular participants.

Currently, during the month of May, new participants can attend for free! If you’ve been thinking about trying Dance Jamz, now is the time!

Join Michele at 6:30 tonight at the Sayler Park Rec Center.

Reason #2 why some of our class participants love Dance Jamz classes: The class participants!

Janet said," All the women who attend the classes are friendly and welcoming."

Debbie said, "I have developed good friendships with a lot of the women. Always great to workout with friends!"

Recently some of our class participants shared with us what they love about our Dance Jamz classes. From their responses, we have compiled a list of “Ten Reasons Why We Love Dance Jamz”. Over the next week, we will be sharing these reasons on our page (in no particular order).

Reason #1 Why We Love Dance Jamz:
**Dance Jamz class participant Leesa said, "Keeping up in the fun group setting pushes me more than I would push myself."

We feel this way too, Leesa! It is easy to go for a walk or do a workout video at home, but when you are in a group setting, you will challenge yourself to work a little harder and you won’t stop the instant you get tired. :)

Our 1st Wednesday class is tonight. Join Mandy for Dance Jamz at 6:30pm at Sayler Park Recreation Center! Hope to see you there!

Here is our class schedule for May.
The days marked “Extreme” involve more cardio and toning exercises so it helps to bring light hand weights and a mat for floor work.

New this year!!!

Michele will be teaching a summer dance camp for ages 3-12 at the Sayler Park Recreation Center.

Each day will focus on a different style of dance and movement - ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz, hip hop and moving for fitness.

It can be a great first introduction to dance, a refresher course for those who haven't danced in awhile, or an opportunity to try a new style of dance.

The camp will meet June 24-27th. Times are as follows:
Ages 3-4 9:30 - 10:00AM
Ages 5-8 10:00 - 10:45AM
