These 2 guys came over from Hawaii for a week's vacation, which was to include prospecting for gold here in the nearby Sierra Foothills.
They called me to set up an appointment because they wanted to buy a metal detector that would suit their needs. After discussing their goals with them, I set them up with a GoldMonster, from Minelab.
Cool thing about this whole situation actually was that one of these guys actually does wood-carving. As you can see, he actually carved his own scoop (definitely something most detectorists need) for the trip!

One of my new prospecting customers who just bought a Minelab GoldMonster 1000 had been out without any real success, but he was running around trying to recover finds with a rockhammer.

He was CLEARLY running around with THE WRONG TOOL!!!!

I suggested to him that the proper recovery tools are just as important as the right metal detector.
Thankfully, I had just received a shipment of the legendary Apex picks, so we selected one for him yesterday, and voilà, he sent me a picture of a spectacular gold nugget he found today.
