There are some things your kids won’t understand until they’re grown.
Wes tells the story of being a kid in the middle of his parents’ divorce—hurting, confused, and honestly just hanging on by a thread. And through all of it, his mom kept dragging him to church.
At the time, he didn’t want to go. He probably couldn’t understand why she kept making him.
But now, years later, he can look back at that little boy and see what his mom was doing.
She was fighting for him when he didn’t know how to fight for himself.
She was giving him something steady to hold onto when so much of his world felt like it was falling apart.
And today, Wes can say something he couldn’t have said back then:
“Thank you, Mom.”
It’s a powerful reminder that our kids may not understand our influence in the moment. But someday, they may look back and realize the things we fought to give them became some of the most important parts of who they are.
