Clarendon College Ranch Horse Team

Clarendon College Ranch Horse Team Ranch horse is a competition that pushes you to improve both horse and rider, and do the best not only for yourself but for your team as well.

There are four parts the ranch horse competitions and they are: reining, trail, pleasure, and cow work. In reining you must teach your horse to change leads on command, come to a sliding stop, be able to change and maintain speeds, spin, and complete a pattern in front of a judge. In trail your horse must be able to go over or through any obstacle put in front you. You must be able to jump over an

ything up to 2 feet tall, you must also be able to control your horses feet and hips. In pleasure you must be able to keep your horse calm and take him through a variety of speeds while staying in the correct lead. Cow work is judged based on the horses ability work a cow by boxing it on the end of the arena
