You hear it…

Whole-person wellness.

But what does that actually look like for you?

Maybe it’s morning meditation.
Coffee with a little quiet.
A few words in a journal.
Breathwork.
Yoga.
A walk outside.
Community and connection.
Church and faith.

Maybe it looks completely different.

Wellness doesn’t have to be one more thing to accomplish. Sometimes it’s simply noticing what helps all the pieces of you come back together.

May your heart space, mind, body, spirit, and breath find their way into rhythm.

The road is torn up, the mud is everywhere, and there’s a whole lot of change happening right outside our door.

Am I loving every minute of it?
Not quite.
But I’m beginning to.

There’s something about watching the earth get dug up, moved around, and reshaped that reminds me a little of the practice of yoga.

We find our ground—even when the ground beneath us is changing.

So for now, I’m staying grounded, connected to the earth, and finding my footing…

This week in yoga therapy training, we’re deep diving into digestion and the GI system—exploring how yoga, breath, movement, and the nervous system can support digestive balance.

And naturally, there’s a little Ayurveda woven in. 🌿 Dinacharya reminds us that our bodies appreciate rhythm and routine—including when and how we eat, move, and rest.

Lots to digest this week. 😉
And lots to bring home right here beneath the prairie sky. 🌾

September is National Yoga Month! This fall, Yoga offerings are available at the 1893. Guided sessions explore a blend of Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa, Restorative, & Somatic Yoga along with Chair Yoga - with space for movement, breath, stillness, and energy.

Life rarely moves in a straight line.

There is an interesting dance between effort and ease, movement and stillness, strength and softness, knowing and not knowing. Sometimes we lead. Sometimes we follow. Sometimes we lose our rhythm and find it again.

Our yoga practice gives us a place to notice that dance without needing to name it, judge it, or perfect it.

On the mat, we might explore the space between holding and letting go, stability and movement, breath and pause. A pose changes as we change. Balance shifts. The breath finds another rhythm. We respond.

And perhaps that is our practice this week—not trying to choreograph every next step, but becoming curious about the interesting dance already unfolding. Notice the rhythm. Allow the shift. Stay curious about the dance.

Yoga • Strength • Balance

Beginning in September, join us Mondays & Wednesdays from 10:30–11:30 AM at The 1893 Collective in Clarksville for a welcoming, all-levels movement class designed to build strength, balance, mobility and confidence in everyday movement.

Sessions will offer a blend of chair yoga, strength training, balance work or mat-based yoga, along with elements of Tai Chi, breathing practices and meditation. We’ll use a variety of props—including bands, balls and chairs—to provide options and support throughout the practice.

Bring a yoga mat or borrow one of ours, and please bring water for hydration.

$5 per class • One Pass accepted

Options 🌾

Sometimes we move through our days as though there is only one way forward. Yoga reminds us — we have options.

We can make a movement smaller.
We can choose a different shape.
We can use the chair.
We can rest.
We can breathe and see what comes next.

Having options creates space for curiosity rather than forcing an outcome. We can notice what is here and choose how—or whether—we want to respond.
