We went 1-2 in a hard fought 2 days at the Perfect Game SEC Triangle-Triad Wood Bat Classic. Our last tournament of the season and our boys played their hearts out in their first wood bat event as a team. Big shout-out to these guys who were named All-Tournament Team. We will start off with our All-Tournament pitching nominations.
Derek Hamelinck our Captain, who sets the tone for us playing everywhere he is asked with a smile on his face, at a high level week in and week out was named All Tournament for BOTH pitching and hitting. This is Derek's 3rd AT team selection for hitting and 2nd for pitching! On the bump D-Rock went 3 IP, allowing 0 ER on 3 hits and 3 k's. Derek had a .000 ERA, 2.00 WHIP, and a .250 BAA. At the dish Derek hit .333 with 2 RBI, 1 run and 1 SB. Keep up the great work Derek, can't wait to see your development and success continue!
Myles Smeltz-Pepicello our clean-up hitter, and a Pitcher on the rise was named to his first All-Tournament Team for pitching after being named AT for hitting FOUR times this season! Consistency is the goal and Myles has been an example of just that! Myles was a DOG on the mound going 5 IP, allowing 1 ER on 6 hits, and 4 k's. Myles finished Sunday's outing with a 1.80 ERA, and a 2.20 WHIP.
Noah Eckstein was technically a guest player for us this weekend but has joined our squad full-time going forward and we are blessed to have him. Playing up in age Noah went 3 IP, allowing 1 ER on 3 hits, and 3 k's. Noah ended the day with a 2.33 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and a .232 BAA. Noah found himself in a pressure situation starting the first game of the weekend on a new team and handled it great! He battled through adversity allowing only 1 earned run in 3 innings in which he had runners on and pressure every inning. Way to step up and show fight and confidence Noah!
Nathan Breed has been our emotional and energy Leader all season and was named All-Tournament Team for the third time this season. Nathan hit .400 on the weekend with a .700 OBP, and 4 runs, 4 BB, and 2 SB. Nathan also gets an honorable mention from us for his pitching where he went 2 pressure packed innings giving up 0 hits, 1 ER and 2 k's. Nathan has been a consistent force for us in the lineup, at CF and at 1B. Keep up the great work and Leadership Nathan!
Caleb Deese earned his second All-Tournament selection. Caleb has been consistently building his game, even through a position change and has handled it all extremely well. Caleb went .600 on the weekend with a .714 OBP and 1 RBI in his first wood bat tournament. Keep up the hard work Caleb, can't wait to see your growth in the OF after the hard work you have put in and the great play you had in LF!
Will Stephenson played with us this weekend and what a baller this young man is! This is Wills 3rd All-Tournament selection in a row, the others coming with his squad, SBA NC East Showcase. Will hit .500, had a .750 OBP, 1 Double, 2 RBI, 4 BB, and 1 SB. Not only can Will hit, and pitch but his defensive game in the infield is also incredible. What a blessing it is to watch Big Will play this game!
Congratulations again to all our guys, including the ones who weren't named All-Tournament Team but battled so hard as a unit this weekend. We only go as far as the sum of all parts will take us. ALL OF US!!

Not a great day score wise, but tomorrow is when the work gets done in Bracket play, and when the tournament really begins. Pitching is set up for us to do some damage!
Harford Community College has an awesome facility.

Good evening everyone! Ripken Experience does not allow devices to be hung behind home plate on-site, but they do allow them at Harford Community College where we are playing Friday afternoon. HiCast is what Ripken offers(roughly $20 for the week) and we will be streaming on Game Changer(free but no promises on views) if you would like to watch. Will share the schedule Saturday and Sunday when that time comes.

What a finish for our Day 1 guy Vinny Trent at the Perfect Game SEC Triangle-Triad Father Day Classic being named MVPitcher! Vinny has had such an amazing season and finished his final local tournament in North Carolina in true VTJ fashion!
Vinny started Sunday off for us just how we needed it
5 IP
6 K
2 ER

1 BB
VTJ has been with us for two full years, 4 seasons. He has played up in age the entire time and worked so hard to become a great player, with a great attitude! He is one of the most coachable young men there is and it shows. We will miss VTJ and Coach Vinny as they make their move out of state. These two awesome gentlemen were day 1 guys that gave everything they had to this team, even through hard days and growing pains. They showed loyalty, bought in, and we all became better for it. We will miss you both so much, let's finish strong at the Ripken Experience next week!!!

These guys were on 🔥 this weekend! Huge shout-out to Myles Smeltz-Pepicello for being ranked #1 on the top performers list this weekend! We had 8 guys in the top 26 with a few others just outside.
We have worked a lot on our approach and we showed it!

What a run for these boys this weekend in the Perfect Game SEC Triangle-Triad Fathers Day Classic! Went 3-2, only losing to the eventual Champ twice. They played 5 games over a span of 24 hours, getting done at 10pm Saturday and being right back out there at 7am the next morning with the 3rd game of the day, the Championship game 8 hours later. That's a lot of baseball and they showed heart and effort until the very end.
Asked one thing of them on Sunday. That was don't give up, give each other everything they have and leave it all out there. They did exactly that. Well done fellas!
