GCAA Families – The World Cup is right around the corner, and we’re excited to announce the event series we have lined up for the Greater Cleveland community. Here is what we have lined up for the entire tournament (June 11th to July 19th):

• 🧠 Daily online soccer trivia
• 📺 Watch Parties with food vendors & inflatables
• 🤳 Interactive soccer & social media video challenges
• 🎟️ Participate and complete challenges to win prizes!

The celebration wraps up on Sunday morning, July 19th, with a 3v3 Soccer Tournament right before the World Cup Final match—complete with trophies for the top teams in each division! 🏆

We’re looking for buddies who are ready to:

We are especially looking for responsible high school students to serve as “older buddies.” This is a wonderful chance for students to earn community service hours while supporting athletes. Buddies are required to attend all sessions through the 8-week season.

TOPSoccer is back for its 3rd season and registration is now open for players!

US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a recreational sports program for children and adults with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities offered only through local US Youth Soccer-affiliated soccer clubs. TOPSoccer provides people with diverse abilities an opportunity to play soccer in a structured environment that is safe, fun, supportive, and inclusive.

TOPSoccer athletes are up to age 18 with a disability including but not limited to: Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Hearing Impaired, Sight Impaired, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cystic Fibrosis, Down Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Seizure Disorder and Spinal Bifida.

We are looking for volunteers to join both our Ground Crew—helping with shoveling, raking, dragging sand, and clearing debris—and our Logistics Crew to help manage staging zones and volunteer hydration stations. We are also actively seeking community loans or operators for heavy machinery like sand spreaders, top dressers, core aerators, front-end loaders, skid steers, and UTVs, as well as hand tools such as rakes, shovels, push brooms, and wheelbarrows. If you want to lend machinery but prefer to navigate it yourself, we would be absolutely delighted to have you on our operating crew.

To show our appreciation, full complimentary meals, snacks, and ice-cold drinks will be provided during all shifts, and verification letters for service hours will be gladly provided for all volunteers.

⚽🛠️ GCAA Soccer Field Renovation Day 🛠️⚽

📅 Friday, May 29
🕘 Starting at 9:00 AM

We need as many volunteers as possible to join us as we restore and renovate our soccer fields! This is a big project and many hands will make light work.

We’ll be:
Spreading sand
Clearing tree limbs and debris
Tackling a variety of field improvement projects

Please bring any tools and equipment you can to help, including:
🔹 Shovels
🔹 Push brooms
🔹 Pole saws
🔹 Wheelbarrows
🔹 Spades
🔹 Rakes
🔹 Any machinery that can help make the job easier

*****🥪 Lunch and refreshments will be provided for all volunteers****

This is a large undertaking and work may continue into Saturday and possibly Sunday if needed.
