Every once in a while you need to withdraw from the world, shed one layer of nonsense and restart your life.

Every action has a consequence, so be conscious about what you do.

This hour of the morning when I am at the gym, I use to train, declutter my brain, and prepare for my week.

Each person is different, this is my time to wake up while the rest of the world sleeps, so I can create and implement.

Don’t try and be like me, don’t try and copy what I do, but learn.

Take what I share and utilize what fits for you to become a better version of yourself.

I learn, make mistakes, do dumb things, and make wrong choices just like everyone else.

I often look up to God and ask,
“What the heck am I doing? Help me out and lend a hand please!”

If I had it all figured out, trust me, you would know because I would share!

So in the meantime, we go through this struggle together and learn along the way!

Make this week count!
Get your workouts in!
Get your water intake in!
Get your nutrition dialed in!
Get your reading in!
Get your gratitude in!
Kick excuses to the curb!

Give yourself some credit for the days you made it when you thought you couldn’t.

You see, I don’t get the luxury like some people have to make excuses.

I don’t get to blame others for my short comings.

I don’t get to go back on my word and not be of full integrity!

I have to hit it hard from the moment I wake up until the moment I lay down.

Too many people depend on me, and I have alot of goals and dreams to achieve before I leave this earth.

Every damn day, give it your best, your very best!

Don’t quit or give up until you do, and when you do feel like giving up, don’t, because alot of people out there want to see you fail!

Don’t give them the pleasure of saying they told you so!

Get a plan for the week, write it down and hit every single one of those goals, and make yourself proud!

Stand in front of that mirror and say “I can, I will, I must!

If you won’t do it for you, do it for your partner or spouse, or family!

They deserve time well spent with you, doing the things you all promised to do together!

Stop worrying about other people, stop letting others judgement control your life.

Stop getting upset and angered by the things you have no control over.

Stop wasting time living a quality life, while you are hell bent on complaining and being miserable.

Start making today, right this minute count!

Start taking your financial health and well being serious!

Start eating clean, excercising, moving your body!

Start going after your dreams no matter how silly they seem.

Start spending quality time with your loved ones and friends.

Think about this, in a blink of an eye, it can all be gone! No more success, money, travel, cars, expensive things, all gone.

Life suddenly stopped! Would you have been proud of how you lived?
Or embarrassed that the pety things in life, friends that don’t support you, low self esteem, your own laziness, got the best of you and robbed you of the greatness we all have in each of us!

This is not a “ preach post”!

It is your wake up call!!

Find what makes you happy and do it, not for others but for you!!!

Live the life you promised yourself years ago!

Don’t give up because adversity rolled through your neighborhood and took you on a ride!

Fight back, stand up, make a difference for you and those around you!

You owe it to yourself to live the fullest most exciting life you possibly can, and it all starts when you stop worry and start making yourself happy!

Is it easy to get up early and workout?

Is it easy to eat clean and not put crap in your body?

Is it easy to keep your commitment and stay disciplined day in and day out?

HELL NO!

That’s why we post with pics of people constantly beating the struggle.

Not to say look at me or how fit I am, but to say “ look how I have overcome the struggles!” You can too!

Listen, motivation is great until it runs out and if you don’t keep pushing through the negativity and thoughts, you will quit.

My client Amy Elliott goes through struggles like everyone else.

The voices in her head saying “ Go back to bed, sleep longer, today isn’t happening!”

But she decided a long time ago, average living is not where it’s at!

Amy works hard during day, studying for nutrition degree in evenings and gets up at the crack of dawn for her workouts with me.

Why do we constantly post reminders of this, talking about the same thing with different people?

Because maybe seeing it enough times, something will click and you will get it.

What makes training with me fun?

What makes training fun in general?

When your trainer is passionate about helping you change your mind and body.

When your trainer tells silly jokes to get you through your hard sets.

When your trainer simplifies the program so YOU get it.

When your trainer takes selfies after you got your best arm pump.

My client Victoria has been training with me almost 10 years!

She can train with anyone she wants and she looks amazing.

She chooses me and the atmosphere we have created here at Red Fitness Lounge.

We have fun when she needs it most.

We get serious when she wants it less.

Choose your hard, but choose your fun too.

JM IN THE AM- A WORKOUT FOR THE MIND

You don’t need motivation to wake you up on Monday, you need commitment and priorities.

Commitment to hold you accountable for the things you say you will do, and priorities to align those duties with the words you commited to.

“ I don’t want to get up and workout!”
- No one does, do it anyway!

“I hate my job and I am in a rut!”
-Nothing is permanent and at any time you can change your current situation!

“I am not at my goal weight, and my body hasn’t changed so what’s the point?”
-Choices always lead to options, and options create the possibility of achieving that goal!

Nothing happens over night or in a blink of an eye.

Changing your physique, crafting a new skill, evolving into a better person, all takes time.

Waking up everyday, staying commited to your goals will help you achieve the desired outcome.

Rolling the covers back over you when the alarm goes off, ensures nothing will change, your attitude will be confirmed, and your outlook will stay s**tty!

Is it easy? Hell no! Do you want to do the work, put the time in, be patient and watch your efforts come to life both in and out of the gym, only you can answer that!

I can only tell you this! No one said it would be easy, and the ones who have things handed to them in life will never know what it’s like to be self made.

The satisfaction that comes with building and creating something, wether it be the body you have always wanted, a new business with ideas and avenues to grow, or even a relationship, where you are forced to think about others instead of yourself all the time, has no limits!

Get up this Monday, open your eyes to possibilities. Take care of yourself, your health and let no one derail you from what you commited to! , , , , , , , , ,

We all make promises to ourselves and others. Most of us break those promises without thinking.

Set your goals, whatever they may be.

Wether it is to get in amazing shape, or eat super healthy and overcome health issues.

Or maybe it is to get that dream job, even create your own company.

It could be to have the most amazing relationship in the world with your partner or spouse.

Whatever it may be, if you don’t commit and stay consistent, it means nothing.

When you have integrity, nothing else matters.
When you don’t have integrity, well, nothing else matters! , , , , , , , , ,

So a funny thing happened on the way to the fridge at the gym.

I normally drink celsius energy drinks. I accidentally picked up the wrong drink this morning at Mobile on the run, not paying attention to the label.

I started taking a sip and thought, wow, this tastes alot like alcohol.

My clients quickly pointed out it was!

Oh well, I guess this Buds for me!

The hardest thing you will ever do in life, is to believe in yourself.

Believe that it is possible to be a better version of you then you are today.

Most people go their whole life wondering if they are ever good enough to become great, but doubt themselves so much that it derails them from a life they deserve to live.

No one said this life was going to be easy.

No one said there wouldn’t be challenges and struggles.

No one ever said if you do this, you absolutely won’t fail.

No one ever said do good by everyone and no one will ever turn their back on you!

They do say, the struggle is real.

They do say commitment takes heart.

They do say it is going to hurt and challenge you more than you have ever been challenged.

In the end it will be worth it, but only if you believe in yourself!

Stop looking to others for validation of “your” life!

It is your life, not theirs, live it on your terms and stop quitting every time it gets tough or you struggle.

I started in the fitness industry as a kid,

No one wanted to listen to a young trainer show them how they could get in shape.

I have been fit and active my entire life!

I have stood the test of time, and made being healthy both mentally and physically a big part of my life.

It wasn’t until recently that I really started believing in myself and my efforts.

I didn’t realize until recently that what I did had value and that I wad good enough to do great things.

No one pats me on the back and says” hey great job today!”

I pat myself on the back saying thank you and I look up and say “I made it through another challenging day”!

We all struggle, but only few will admit it in fear of appearing weak or not worthy of someone’s attention!

I am in this life for myself and my family and amazing wife.

Everyone else that happens to benefit from what I do is a bonus!

I believe in people, I believe in helping them get out of their own way to be great!

Motivation isn’t easy, and not everyone has the gift to lift someone up at a time in their life when they need it most.

Not everyone can create the “ah ha” moment!

Nowadays everyone is a guru and a motivational speaker, and they think by saying a few words someone else said, people will listen to them.

If you want to make it in this life and be successful at anything from getting out of bed, to getting that healthy fit body, to landing the job you have always wanted, to even getting the fairytale relationship of your dreams, it starts by believing in yourself.

It starts by giving up the doubt and self pitty.

It starts by holding your head up high, knowing you add value to peoples lives and you are here for a reason!

Nothing in life will come easy. However everything you want in life, is at the end of your belief.

JM in the AM-(A workout for the mind)

To get past the unbreakable one must do the unthinkable and never quit!- Jamie Mushlin

Here are 20 things to remember on your journey to a healthier, stronger, leaner you!

1) The scale is just a number- it measures total body mass- fat weight, bones, tissue, organs etc.. No way that number represents who you are!

2) If you don't take care of your body who will? You friends, your kids, your spouse? No, You!

3) Do Something active everyday.

4) Quit complaining after 2-3 weeks of starting a workout that you aren't seeing results. Especially when you have been destroying your body for years!!

5) Eat Healthy!- if you have to ask you probably shouldn't eat it.

6) Drink lots of water. This is always a big controversy but staying hydrated especially when your body is made up of 70% water isn't.

7) running stairs at work off and on is good for keeping the body moving but it doesn't qualify as cardio. Get your training done in the gym, then go for a run, power walk, swim, bike ride, jump rope.

😎 Stop using your cell phone in between sets! Nothing is that important that you can't put your phone down for 45-50 min and focus. If it is that important then handle situation first and go to the gym later.

9) No you're not too old to workout. Training and exercise can be done at any age. The "too old to exercise" came from lazy people who don't understand the importance of taking care of your body!

10) Yes, you do have to strength train as well as cardio. No, you don't get to pick one or the other! Depending on your age, one can tend to be more heart healthy, but they are both equally important if your looking for quality of life!

11) Quit telling your friends you are going to start a workout and never do! No one likes a procrastinator, and no one likes to be told stories unless they are animated and with pictures.

12) Hire a good trainer, ask your friends for referrals if they use one. Look for one that has established clientele and people you can talk to. If you are not sure how to build your workout program this is a good way to start until you feel comfortable.

13) If eating heathy is confusing, hire a good nutritionist, some one who helps you understand what your current lifestyle is and how important it is for you to change in order to get healthy.

14) The weekends were not meant for you to relax from working out and eating clean. It's not a green light to destroy your body again.

You didn't earn the right to be healthy 5 days and s**tty 2 days. You want to reward yourself from the weeks hard workouts, and clean eating, but a new outfit, go to the movies, take a drive with your spouse somewhere different.

By no means does Friday-Sunday mean you get to kill all of your hard work
because you are entertaining friends or clients.

15) Get rid of all of your excuses! The reasons you think are valid why you can't work out, aren't!!

17) Make a realistic goal you can stick too. Starting off 6-7 days a week is not realistic, 3-4 days is more of a realistic goal.

18) Make a promise to yourself that every year from here on out you will be in the best shape of your life, for the rest of your life!

19) Take your health seriously, you never know at what point in your life adversity and destruction will knock on your door. Make sure you are ready by doing all of the things on your list!

20) Remember what is important to you, good health, good friends, quality of life, close family, great job, financial freedom, helping others less fortunate, stop complaining, stop looking at negative in life, stop playing a victim, start taking charge of You!
