LABOR DAY WEEKEND: FARM EDITION

Some folks are kicking off three days of doing absolutely nothing.

At Sly Fox…

🐴 Horses still expect breakfast.
🐔 Chickens recognize no federal holidays.
🐮 Highland babies remain committed to being adorable.
🐱 Kittens have taken the long weekend without submitting PTO.
🦚 And the VP of Looking Important? ... Has apparently been celebrating Labor Day all year. 😂

The farm doesn't exactly come with an OFF switch — but we wouldn't have it any other way.

And after five demanding days of standing around looking absolutely magnificent, the VP is pleased to announce:

And nobody has asked you to join a Zoom meeting.

Tonight we're pulling out the Dutch oven for Apple Cider Braised Brisket.

Brisket.
Apple cider.
Onions.
Garlic.
Rosemary.
Apples.

Then give it a few hours to mind its own business while your house starts smelling like you suddenly know exactly what you're doing. 😂

This is the kind of meal that makes everybody wander into the kitchen asking:

“When are we eating?”

And that cider gravy at the end?

Yeah. Make the mashed potatoes.

🐔 COOP TALK

We made the mistake of giving the Chicken Committee access to the morning agenda.

They've now expanded their jurisdiction to include kittens, Highland hair, horses, and executive performance reviews.

Nobody authorized this.

Nobody knows who gave them the chalkboard.

And we're fairly certain the VP plans to appeal the decision. 🦚

Anyway… good morning from Sly Fox Stables, where apparently everyone has a title and absolutely no one stays in their department. 😂

Good morning from Sly Fox Stables! ☀️🐴

September apparently missed the memo that fall is coming because we're headed for 98° today. 🥵

So while everybody handles their morning business around the farm, we're keeping an eye on the heat, keeping everybody comfortable, and appreciating whatever shade we can find.

Meanwhile, we're halfway to the weekend — and that's worth celebrating. 🙌
