West branch of the Susquehanna river has returned to safer levels. From Bower to Karthaus. Some areas farther downriver are spiking and will soon receed. Some areas can still be a little pushy. Fun. Always wear your PFD (life vest). Be aware of floating debris and strainers in the river.
Be aware that any moderate rain can cause levels to spike. There's a lot of moisture in the ground.

So river is back to near normal runable levels. Not too high or low. Watching the storms move through PA. Today the rains were good rains. Slow and steady. Good for soaking into the ground. Potential for another round of storms on Thursday. This has been a wet and wild year.

Stay off water. Due to heavy rains, river has risen 4 ft and continues to rise at Bower gauge. Unless you like death defying drops and waves and not knowing which way is up.
Curwensville lake rising rapidly and asking people to remove boats from moors.
Karthaus looks near perfect now , but don't be fooled. All this water coming from headwaters is heading that way. Stay safe. Find alternate plans.

Between heat and Curwensville lake holding back water, river has dropped/dropping at least a foot in 2 days. Look for something else to do.

River levels are great. Watch for storms with flash flooding and downed trees from prior storms.
