Scuba diving instructor in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. Living the dream one dive at a time. I started diving in May 1993 and instantly fell in love.
I signed up for the Advanced Open Water class before my Open Water Diver class was even finished. I bought all of my scuba equipment and then kept on going. I signed up for the very next Diver Stress & Rescue class and then the Dive Control Specialist class. In my first year of recreational diving I logged over 100 dives in various dive locations. I took the NSS/CDS Cavern and Intro to Cave Diving
classes from the wonderful Jarrod Jablonski and then took the IANTD Nitrox class (back in the 90s when the recreational agencies still looked down upon this 'technical' voodoo gas). I then spent time as a DiveCon helping other scuba instructors run classes and dives before taking the leap myself. I obtained my Instructor certification in September of 1994 and found that not only do I love scuba diving, but I absolutely love teaching as well. I found there's something magical about watching someone try scuba diving for the first time and knowing you had a part in helping them fall in love with it. For all of the changes that have happened in the scuba industry, it's still magical and teaching is still extremely rewarding. I strongly believe in providing students with support, patience, and guidance to not only educate them but also help them overcome obstacles or insecurities. If you're interested in learning to scuba dive, expanding your diving knowledge, or getting back into diving, I would be happy to help you on your journey.
