🔒 Fix Your Choke — Big Mistake
Professor Brian spots the hand error that kills your rear naked choke — then the fix.

How to do it:
1️⃣ Close both sides so there’s nowhere to hide.
2️⃣ Dig your fingers to the right depth (don’t leave the palm lazy).
3️⃣ Lock it in and finish the choke clean.

💡 The “big mistake” is soft hand placement — dig the fingers, close both sides, finish.

🦵 Russian Leg Lace Takedown
Russian series 2/2
Professor Brian bumps the Russian up, walks to the far shoulder, hooks the leg, and drops them — then it’s attack time.

How to do it:
1️⃣ Bump the Russian (2-on-1) up to break posture.
2️⃣ Walk yourself high and grab the far shoulder.
3️⃣ Hook their near leg and drop them to the floor.
4️⃣ Settle behind and start attacking.

💡 The bump creates the lane — once you’re on the far shoulder with the leg laced, the takedown is just gravity.

🦵 Understanding What the Knee Lever Can Do
Professor Brian breaks down the knee lever as a concept — not just one move.

How it works:
1️⃣ When they flatten you, the lever is how you get your knees back in the game.
2️⃣ Use it to create space instead of muscling frames.
3️⃣ That space turns into a real sweep attempt (or the sweep itself).

💡 The knee lever isn’t decoration — it’s how you create space when they try to pin you flat.

🔥 Warm-Up Drill: DLR Sweep to Knee Cut
Skip empty shrimps — Professor Brian’s room runs a useful warm-up that actually builds the sweep-to-pass chain.

How to do it:
1️⃣ From DLR, sit up and lean toward their back.
2️⃣ Plant your hand and far foot, then drag the hooked foot to sweep.
3️⃣ Finish the knee cut into side control.
4️⃣ Partner recovers; you stand; they run the same sweep. Back and forth ~2 minutes.

💡 A warm-up should leave you better at something real — this one grooves sweep + pass under light pressure.

🎁 This Sweep Is Cheating — Bundle Sweep
Professor Brian bundles the arm so their base disappears — then sweeps.

How to do it:
1️⃣ Isolate the arm and bundle it tight to your chest.
2️⃣ Drag across the centerline to break posture.
3️⃣ Sweep and get on top before they post back.

💡 Bundle the arm first — once they can’t post, the sweep feels unfair (in a good way).

🔄 When the Kimura Is Failing You
Professor Brian shows the switch: if flared knees kill the Tarikoplata, stop forcing the arm and take the legs.

How it works:
1️⃣ Keep them on their side and make them defend the Kimura.
2️⃣ When the knees flare to stop the step-over, that’s your opening.
3️⃣ Abandon the arm, jump forward into the saddle.
4️⃣ Rip the heel before they catch up to the transition.

💡 The defense that saves the arm often opens the legs — change levels the second the knees flare.

🦶 The Best Foot Sweep — And Why It Works
Professor Brian shows the seated-guard foot sweep that works because of timing — not muscle.

How to do it:
1️⃣ Hand-fight first so you can connect clean.
2️⃣ Time the hook + pull as they commit weight.
3️⃣ Sweep before they settle their base.

💡 Timing makes it work — the hook and pull have to be fast the second they load you.

🧱 Make K Guard Useless
K Guard series 1/2
Professor Brian’s fancy-but-easy answer when the legs start getting sticky from K Guard.

How to do it:
1️⃣ Split the legs open to create the window.
2️⃣ Dive your shin behind the knee (left or right).
3️⃣ Stay committed through the scramble and settle on top.

💡 Once the legs split, the pass is behind the knee — not a fight with fancy retention.

💥 Don’t Resist Their Pull — Shoulder Crunch
Professor Brian’s counter when they try to yank away from the crunch.

How to do it:
1️⃣ Don’t fight the pull — ride it and keep the shoulder crunch.
2️⃣ Plant your foot on the hip to manage distance.
3️⃣ Once the angle’s there, attack armbars and triangles.

💡 Resisting their pull wastes the gift. Follow it, foot on hip, then finish.
