What does “leverage” actually mean in the swing?
For me, leverage is getting the hands in line with where they’re about to go.
Not too high where they have to work down.
Not too low where they have to work back up.
When the hands are organized on that line, the hitter can work back → forward and deliver the barrel with strength.
Too much up → down or down → up before you can go forward creates unnecessary movement—and usually a weaker move.
Get in line. Stay leveraged. Then go.

Hitting Dumbed Down for Dummies-
Ranges during the swing are what I look for. Not exacts, but does the hitter fit within the normal ranges of 1- Launch 2- Approach 3- Contact
4- Power V

The quickest, cheapest way to learn to hit the ball to the pull side in the air????????? 🤯🤯
Don’t jump forward, Keep your tilt. Keep your Head even or behind your rear hip at contact, Let that create a positive attack angle… then simply catch the ball farther out front. PRACTICE IT OBER AND OVER AND OVER🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Want to drive the ball the other way?
Nothing changes except the contact point. Let it get deeper.
Same swing. Different contact point.
Before you spend $2,500 on someone telling you otherwise, try this first. You might be surprised how simple it really is.🤷🤷
It’s easy to start feeling like we have to push the barrel back or make the bat move.
Instead, let your body begin the turn and allow the barrel to naturally whip with it.
The goal isn’t to force the bat. Your body creates the speed. When your turn and the barrel work together, the swing becomes much more explosive with less effort.
Today’s swings were noticeably better. The explosiveness didn’t come from swinging harder—it came from better sequencing. Keep chasing that feeling when you get back to school. karlee
I’m not saying every pitch should be hit deep. That’s not the point.
I’m saying if you become really comfortable delivering the barrel on deeper pitches—without getting beat—you’ll usually become much better out front too.
Why?
Because now you have a bigger timing window. You’re not forced to cheat to get the barrel there.
I’ve seen it for years.
Train the ability to stay on a ball deep. Learn to deliver the barrel instead of rushing it. Then when it’s time to attack one out front, you’ll have the adjustability to do both.
Get comfortable deep… so you can be dangerous everywhere.

I’ve been accused of treating hitters differently.
You’re absolutely right.
The hitters who show up prepared…
Ask questions…
Work between lessons…
Compete…
And genuinely care…
They get more from me.
Not because they’re my favorites.
Because they’ve earned my investment.
I’ll give every hitter an opportunity.
But I can’t care more about your career than you do.
The athletes who bring effort every day will always get more of my time, my energy, and my best coaching.
That’s not playing favorites.
That’s coaching.

Deep is not Steep
The deeper the pitch, the smaller the window for a loopy attack angle.
That doesn’t mean swing flat.
It means the barrel has to work more directly through the pitch, not under it.
Depth changes the angle.
If you’re looking for a tee that can keep up with real training, this is it.
The Handy Tee features a 6-inch rubber tee topper that’s incredibly forgiving on mish*ts, so you’re not constantly replacing parts.
It also has a metal gooseneck that’s designed to flex. That little bit of built-in movement helps absorb bad swings instead of transferring all that force back into your arm.
Expandable from 32-42 inches long, you can safely work from farther away while still reaching pitches down in the zone, inside, outside, and everywhere in between—without moving a heavy tee every few swings.
More reps. More adjustability. Less downtime.

Apparently talking about barrel path is controversial now… so let’s make it worse. 😂
Today’s lesson is about two things:
• The plane of the pitch (high vs. low)
• The direction you release the barrel (pull side, middle, or opposite field)
The plane changes based on pitch height.
The release direction changes based on where the pitch is located.
Understanding those two things is what gives hitters adjustability instead of forcing the same swing on every pitch.
