Your time on the water helps shape the future of safer boating.

The Safe Boating Campaign is asking boaters to take a few minutes to share how they boat, what safety habits matter most to them, and where we can do better. Your feedback helps us better understand real boater behavior so we can adjust our outreach, resources, and messaging to meet boaters where they are.

National Fishing and Boating Week is June 6-14! Make sure you’re with these tips:

🎣 Wear a life jacket every time you’re on the water. A properly fitted life jacket is the most effective way to stay safe while boating or fishing.
⚡️Check weather conditions before you go. Sudden storms, high winds, and changing water conditions can quickly create hazardous situations.
🚤 Keep safety equipment on board and accessible. Carry essentials such as a first-aid kit, whistle, fire extinguisher, and emergency communication device.
💧Stay alert and boat sober. Operating a boat requires the same attention and responsibility as driving a vehicle.
💬 Let someone know your plans. Share your destination, expected return time, and who is with you before heading out on the water.
🐟 Practice safe fishing. Handle hooks, knives, and fishing gear carefully, and keep a safe distance from other anglers and boaters.

Enjoy the outdoors responsibly by wearing a life jacket, checking the weather, carrying essential safety gear, and staying alert on the water. A few simple precautions can help ensure a fun and safe experience for everyone.
