Taryne Mowatt, former Arizona Wildcat pitcher, 2-time NCAA Champion, winner of 2 ESPY's, NPF pitcher and college coach is moving to the triad area of NC and will be soon be giving pitching lessons at Athletes Edge!

Taryne will be giving lessons out of my Athlete's Edge training facility in Clemmons and Forsyth Country Day School in Lewisville. We are planning to have lessons begin within the next 10 days as well as hold camps this summer. For more info, questions or to schedule lessons, please email or give me a call. Here is a little more info on Taryne-

Taryne was a key member of Arizona's back-to-back NCAA championship teams in 2006 and 2007. As a 2007 junior, Taryne set four Women's College World Series records that landed her the WCWS Most Outstanding Player award. In eight complete games, she threw 60 innings for six victories and 76 strikeouts in a seven-day span. At the end of that season, Tarynewas named to the 2007 All-Pac10 first team and earned All-American second team recognition. For her performance at the WCWS, Taryne received the ESPY for Best Female Athlete and Best Female College Athlete.

After the completion of her career at the University of Arizona, Taryne left with eight places in six different categories on Arizona's record lists. During that 2007 campaign, Mowatt set the Arizona single-season record for strikeouts (522), innings pitched (370.0) and victories (42). For her career, Taryne finished second in strikeouts (1,267), second in innings pitched (877.2) and seventh in career victories (100). She also finished her collegiate career with 40 shutouts.

Taryne was drafted by the NPF Washington Glory and later played the 2010 season with the Akron Racers. She was traded to the Chicago Bandits in November 2010 and completed the 2011 season with them.
Taryne prepped at Santiago High School in Corona, Calif. She was named Los Angeles Times Player of the Year in 2004, and was a two-time CIF Player of the Year and high school All-American in 2003 and 2004.
Taryne graduated from Arizona in 2009 with a degree in communications.
