Today was a truly special day at Clermont Family Martial Arts Center! ⭐🥋
We received a surprise visit from a representative of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, who presented us with the Gold Star Award in recognition of our participation in Project Kid Connect.
Project Kid Connect is an incredible annual summer initiative that helps provide backpacks and school supplies to children in need throughout our community. This is our second year proudly supporting and donating to this amazing program, and being recognized for our involvement was an incredible honor.
For us, giving back has always been about more than recognition. It’s about supporting the children and families who make our community so special and doing our part to help every child start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.
A huge thank you to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office for this recognition and for everything they do through Project Kid Connect.
⭐ What an amazing honor to be part of something that makes such a positive difference in the lives of local children! ⭐

After 18 years of teaching martial arts, I’ve learned something that may be just as important as anything we teach on the mat:

Sometimes you have to let kids be kids. 🥋❤️

Discipline matters.
Respect matters.
Hard work matters.

But so do laughter, smiles, friendships, and simply having FUN.

One thing I’ve always tried to do at Clermont Family Martial Arts Center is keep learning and evolving. Some of the best changes I’ve made over the years didn’t come from a textbook or another martial arts school — they came from listening to our parents, our students, and the trusted friends who care enough to challenge the way I think.

Recently, my good friend Jason Tremper helped me step back and see the forest through the trees.

Sometimes when you’ve been doing something for a long time, it’s easy to become so focused on the destination that you forget to enjoy the road getting there.

That conversation reminded me of something important:

We can teach discipline without losing the fun.
We can demand excellence without losing the smiles.
And we can build strong martial artists while still letting kids enjoy being kids.

So we’re traveling down a new road at Clermont Family Martial Arts Center.

More creativity.
More energy.
More laughter.
More memories.
And a whole lot more FUN. 🔥

I’m still learning.
I’m still growing.
And after 18 years, I’m still willing to change when change makes us better.

Because when kids love coming through our doors, they want to learn.

When they want to learn, they grow.

And when they grow…

that’s when something special happens.

🥋 Train hard.
❤️ Love the journey.
😂 Laugh often.
🔥 And never forget to have fun.
