The Knee…
***
has spent countless hours trying to hit and understand the knee position. This position, and those directly before and after, make or break the lift.
***
Textbook says the knee SHOULD (meaning you gotta work at it) get back as you leave the floor, and it WILL (meaning you can’t really avoid it) come back forward as you approach the top of hip/knee extension.

Why is this important?
***
Many reasons. Here’s just a couple;
***
The bar is slightly over the ball of the foot as you break the floor. Moving the bar and knee backwards helps you initiate the bar towards center, and if the knee isn’t back well the bar isn’t over center foot. The hamstring stretch help to utilize the hams and accelerating the bar in the second pull. And lastly (for now) this sets you up to continue to drive through the whole foot and REMAIN over the center of the foot as long as you can - which usually means you receive the bar over center foot.

Hopefully is a good sport about this but I wanted to speak to some of the things we focus on and WHY we do it! Look for Halle to dial this in and break into triple-digit sn**ches.
