Don't be afraid to vote YES on ISSUE 9 for the PUBLIC PARK. Here are reasons to vote YES. And, reasons to be afraid of the development. The development agreement includes the City selling all 5 acres of land at Meadowbrook Lee to the developer for $10 in year 40. This is not a typo! There is NO JUSTIFICATION for "selling" 5 acres of prime commercial property for $10. NO JUSTIFICATION. It is the next generation's wealth. We can have a better plan. VOTE YES on ISSUE 9! Thanks!

This is my antidote for all the personal attacks I have received. Because I and 60 others dared to think for ourselves and use the City Charter to give residents the right to vote on a local land use decision involving their taxes and "selling" the next generation's land--5 acres of prime commercial property for $10 in year 40. $10!!!

WHERE ARE WE GOING TO GET THE MONEY FOR THE PARK?
This was posted on another page: The city of University Heights raised an elementary school and turned the grounds into Walter Stinson Community Park ("The Walt"). The project was successful funded via a state grant: https://www.cleveland.com/.../11/university_heights_5.html. Would the city of Cleveland Heights look into state grants or non-profit funding? I drive past the proposed "green space area" on Lee Road when I drive to work the space is always being used for activity.

𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸! 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞 𝗯𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝟵 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀? 𝗬𝗘𝗦! We asked our CPA and he said that the money is there--it's a cakewalk (although he prefers cupcakes). The City's $10 million in ARPA funds and the Community Development Block Grant funds and the ability for the City and the community to work together to apply for grants means the money to start working on the PARK is there. The City hired a consultant for $250,000 to help them manage the ARPA funds-consultant says this money can be used for any line item in the budget. And Future Heights mini-park was awarded $50,000 in Block Grant funds this year. OUR COMMUNITY IS FULLY CAPABLE OF MAKING THIS HAPPEN! We are a creative, energetic and progressive community--this is a cakewalk!
