Kenny's commute involves a small walking distance through a farmers market.
He never pays much attention to the products sold apart from the days he misses breakfast and has to grab a quick snack.
He has a favorite vendor called Eugene. He loved his pastries so much that he decided to visit his station on the weekends to 'talk'.
"Eugene my man," he said, "do you know how much money we would make if we sold your snacks next to my office?"
"That is a good idea but I can't Kenny." Kenny tried convincing him but he would not budge. Even the persuasion skills which he learned in a seminar were not working.
"Okay then, I will do it myself!" he thought. Weeks later Kenny rented a booth and hired his younger brother to help him out.
The first week was not bad, however after that people stopped buying.
Kenny tried everything he could to make sales. He increased the snack size, had a 'buy one get one free offer', and still, he wasn't making enough sales to keep him afloat.
Sadly, he had to close his booth. He went back to Eugene's station, the place was buzzing with activity but Eugine was not there.
"Where is he?" "He no longer works here, he oversees the bakery."
After lifting his jaw from the floor, Kenny went to the bakery. Eugene was doing great and looked good too.
After catching up Eugene told Kenny, that he had a vision that he was working towards and that's why he couldn't move his location.
Eugene wanted to supply pastries all over the country.
For this to work, he had to start at a location where he could buy produce cheap and one with lots of human traffic.
With these in place, he could now create different pastries and snacks, use the customers' feedback to make them even better, or eliminate those that wouldn't sell.
He had done this for a few years and got so much data and knowledge from this experience, and now he creates one of the top pastries brands in his country.
Parting shorts, start with the vision, create a strategy, and develop your product.
Learn from Kenny's mistake and emulate Eugene's success.

One day in boarding school, I was sent home for treatment, and my classmates wrote me messages to send to their parents. I was glad to do this but I had to take care of my health first.
A week passed and some of my classmates came to visit me at home. I was so happy to see them but noticed that my deskmate was not among them.
"Where is Rebecca?" I asked. Nobody answered. My teacher quickly changed the subject distracting me from the question.
I asked one of my classmates if she would like to go for a walk. After talking for a while, I asked her again, "Is Rebecca okay? Why didn't she come to visit?"
"We were told not to talk to you about this." She answered. I begged her to tell me.
"Rebecca got sick and died a few days ago." My heart sank. I felt like my world was crashing down. I didn't know what to do.
After they left, I went into my room and looked into my bag went through the notes, and found Rebecca's note."Mum, I am not feeling well. Please come and pick me up."
A gush of emotions came over me. I felt overwhelmed with grief and anger and I broke down crying.
I went back to school (physically healed) determined to know what happened to Rebecca. I was told that she left a day after I did, but since her religion was against modern medicine, she succumbed to Meningitis and died a week later.
It took years for me to heal from this.
This experience opened up something in me that was always there but I ignored it. In my own way, I got closer to myself and God. I learned to listen to that quiet voice behind my cluttered thoughts.
Since then whenever I go through painful events, I reached out to that voice, I called out to it, asking and yearning for its direction. I became more in tune with myself and learned that I was never alone. It was powerful and eye-opening.
Today, I face pain courageously. Why? Because I know that deep within us dwells a higher being whose ways are powerful and beyond my understanding.
A Being who will never leave us doesn't judge, never gets tired of us, and is living through us.

Do you ever wonder how your performance would be if you organized and tracked your every move? “Wangari, I am too busy for that.” “I have a million things to do.” “Where would I even get the time?”
Let me explain, Imagine you were to go to location W. But to get there you have to pass through locations T, U, and V. Each morning you go to the bus station and take a bus to W and you can’t wait to get there.
⚜En route to W, you see something interesting at location T and decide to alight there so that you can take a closer look. You promise yourself that you will go to location V tomorrow.
⚜The next day, a similar thing happens, instead of going W, again, you get distracted at location U and decide to go to W the following day. The next morning, a friend in location T asks you to join in a great adventure and you decide that location W can wait a little longer. After all yesterday you made it to U. You convince yourself that you will do it the following day.
⚜This happens continuously, days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months and you still haven’t gone to location W. You then decide that going to location W is unrealistic and you are better off at location T. You convince yourself that location T is an easy commute and you’ve got friends there so you stay.
⚜So what I’m I driving at? Our lives are full of loud distractions, each one of them calling out to us for an ounce of attention. Once we give in we get hooked and can’t achieve our goals.
⚜Some of these distractions include social media, bad friends, lack of belief in ourselves, and the mother of them all procrastination. They seduce us with a promise of pleasure and relief from stress, and once they get a hold of us, they chain us down and cut our wings off.
⚜If this is you, and you are wondering what you can do to escape the vortex that has been sucking you in, you need to track your every move. I have created a ‘Take Action Program’ that will get you back on your journey. TAP has a monthly planner doc, daily planner, daily journal, habit tracker, evening and morning affirmation, evening and morning gratitude, and a goal plan.
⚜You can also work with me as your coach and accountability partner. If you are ready to focus on yourself and take charge of your life, reach out to me and we will get started.

How I created (best post ever!)
I had a clear picture of what my social media brand would be. After all, I do this for a living. I wanted to increase my clientele list and I hadn’t used social media to get clients before.
The first thing was to create a recognizable brand. So I started playing with colors until I found these two shades of blue and I was in love. I was ready to complete my mission, operation “Create Wangari’s brand (CWB).” Tagline Empower, Inspire, and Motivate!😎😎
Agent Wangari was in the move, pumped and ready for action. With tea on the table and an inspirational speech by Wayne Dyer in the background what could possibly go wrong? The answer to this was plenty.😂😂
Firstly, I had writer's block, the only thing on my mind was a murder mystery documentary I had watched before, and no matter how hard I tried to spin it police files and social media did not go well together.😀😉
The next reasonable thing to do was to conjure Emily Dickinson, I was hoping that she could drop some tips, and next thing you know I would be writing pages of content. As you might have guessed, it also didn't work.😂
After a few hours of pacing, watching some fun TikTok videos, and 4 snack breaks, I finally created a sum of 1 post, and operation CWB was back on, ready to be posted and my mission was completed.😎
A few hours passed and I went to check the post’s performance. I was expecting a few likes and a couple of comments only to be greeted by cricket sounds all over my post😂. I had 0 engagement.
The next day I was at it again, struggling to create a post and at the same time encouraging myself with background motivational speeches! ☀Did this for a few days then finally I decided to write what I wanted to instead of what I thought people would like to hear.
Did this work? It did! Finally some likes and a few comments. I felt like I could address the world at a press conference with the title "Kenyan Girl Got 4 likes on Her Authentic Post," this was followed by a standing ovation and allulation!😎😂
"Wangari, I hope I did not go through all this trouble reading this long post only to find that you didn't get any client." Well, ladies and gentlemen, I got two! (aririririririririiiii!)😂😂
What is the lesson here? There is no right or wrong way to start anything, jump in and figure it out as you go. Inspiration will eventually hit. Keep on keeping on, even if the result is not what you expected.
☀The final and most important lesson is DM Wangari for Social Media Coaching and Social Media Marketing services.
What are you doing to increase your brand's visibility on social media?

My grand-dad was a hunter. One day as he was coming from hunting, he saw a leopard sleeping next to the path he was taking. He quietly walked past the leopard. Fun fact, do you know that Wangari is the Kikuyu name for Leopard😀😀? (Kikuyu is a Kenyan language)
A few miles from the first leopard, he encountered another sleeping leopard, this alarmed him. He had used the same path so many times and this never happened to him.
Again, he walked quietly and continued his journey back home. When he was an eye's distance from his boma (home), he saw another leopard and to his surprise, the leopard was also sleeping.
(Grand-dad's background) My grand-dad had been hunting with his dad since he was a young boy, and he was really good at it. This was how they survived. They would hunt for food and use the hydes to make clothes.
Seeing a leopard sleeping and not attacking was good luck. Encountering two leopards on the same path and he wasn't attacked was a coincidence. But three sleeping leopards?!
He knew something leopardy was going on(see what I did there😂). This time he looked at it closely and noticed that this was the first leopard that he had seen before.
Now how could this be? The only possible explanation was that the leopard was following him. After his first encounter, the leopard would run ahead of him and sleep next to his path. It did this twice.
He thought that it was waiting for the perfect opportunity to attack. But he was so close to the boma (home) and was still in one piece, what was the leopard's goal? Was it following him so that it could attack the whole boma?
Grand-dad went on his way but kept a close eye on the leopard. He got home safely. In the boma, people told him that a group of hyenas were roaming on the path and had almost attacked a few members of the clan, but were fought off and had headed back on the same path.
This is when he realized that the leopard was actually protecting him from the hyenas. The presence of the leopard meant that the hyenas wouldn't dare come near him.
What can we learn from this story as entrepreneurs or career men and women?
1. The Creator's ways are beyond our understanding.
2. Everything The Creator does is always in our best interest.
We may not understand why scary, heartbreaking, and disappointing things are happening to us, but when we reach our destination we will see clearly that they were protecting us from something way worse and terrible.
Wherever you are, whatever you might be doing trust that The Creator has a bigger purpose for you. Focus on the destination and leave the rest to The Creator.

Have you heard of 'The Purple cow'?😀😀
No, it is not a cow breed that you haven't seen before, it is a book written by Seth Godin, the greatest marketing leader ever!🥳
In this book, Seth illuminates on how different traditional marketing is from latter-day marketing.
Traditional marketing ➡ advertising products ➡ Creating products ➡ Making Sales. The brands would use mediums like TV, radio, banners, and newspapers. This worked extremely well and is the reason brands like Cover Girl, Downy, Crest, and Tide had huge success.
Their strategies involved creating catchy advertisements and reaching as many people as possible. This worked so well because ✅There was less Competition. ✅ Mediums like TV and Radio were the only means of communicating to the masses. ✅Consumers were eager to buy the products.
⚜"Wangari, if it worked then, it will work now, right?" The answer is a huge NO! Today the same strategies work against us because time has changed and so has the consumer. The consumer in those times was attracted by flashy advertisements while today, they focus on the effectiveness and uniqueness of a product.
Seth puts it this way; imagine you are driving in a field of grazing brown and black cows. At first, it is a lovely sight and you are amazed by it, but after a few miles of the same view you get bored and your attention is placed elsewhere. What happens if you see a purple cow? You immediately focus on it. You might even take a picture and share it with a friend.😉😉
🐮Here is where the purple cow comes in. In order for you to make sales in a saturated market, you have to create a product that stands out from the rest and then identify platforms that your target audience is using.
"So, should I invent green powder for my makeup collection? It will stand out from the skin-toned ones." My answer is another No! (unless you are targeting film or theatre companies).🤗🤗
Your products should also solve the consumer's problems. Ask yourself these questions; What does my consumer need? How will my product help them? 🤔
🐄Armed with this knowledge plus a copy of " The Purple Cow", you will create amazing brands and make huge sales!
What are you doing to stand out?

Due to public demand (I have always wanted to use this line😂😂), I have created a poem in celebration of my weekend routine.
Enjoy😎
☀I always look forward to the weekend,
☀I can relax and watch as the day ends.
☀With a drink in one hand,
☀And a view so grand.
☀I don't do much,
☀So don't hold a grudge,
☀If all I do is take a nap.
👉How do you spend your weekends?
How would you rate my poem out of 5?😉😂

When I was about 16 years old, I got really sick and had to drop out of school for almost a year.
I was bedridden and needed some form of entertainment to take my mind off things. So my mum left me a pen and a book.
At first, I started drawing, but I quickly found out that I didn't have Picasso in my blood😂, so I started writing random thoughts.
Unfortunately, being a teenager didn't involve intellectual thoughts. In fact, my thoughts revolved around a boy I had a crush on, and I wrote about him. (I got in trouble for this😂😂)
However, a few days or weeks afterward, I started writing about life and my perspective. This really helped and I was no longer depressed. With the help of medicine, my parents' care, and my journaling I recovered and went back to school with no mental issues😉.
Nowadays, whenever I am facing a challenge in my business, I write down what I feel. Not in an effort of solving them, but to help my mind calm down and to take control of my emotions.
I also have a beautiful journal where I write my ideas as often as possible. This has helped me be a better and happier entrepreneur.
✨The act of taking a business idea and fleshing it out on paper not only makes it tangible and real but also allows for the growth and expansion of that idea.
✨Journaling can help you organize your thoughts, prompt reflection, and generate creative ideas. These processes are critical to being a successful entrepreneur and a happier person.
Do you journal? How is it helping you and your business?
💖Special shoutout to my mum and dad for loving me unconditionally!

Yesterday I had one of the most insightful conversations ever! I asked for some tech facts and now I have content for days😂😂!
Here is what I learned:
☀️One of the greatest acquisitions that Google ever made was buying android in 2005 and they only bought it for $50m.
☀️Android is the most popular operating software in almost 70% of all mobile phones and now has expanded to watches and TV.
☀️The enigmatic effect of the deal is every device sold with Android has Google as the search engine. By buying such a small company, it elevated Google to a household name with almost 3 billion users by 2021.
☀️Today, it's almost impossible to think of android phones without a Google search.
☀️It is quite interesting to imagine that by considering to incorporate something else into their company, Google extrapolated its value globally.
After this conversation, I went and googled other Google facts, and here are the top two I had to share:
1. Google Tried to Sell Its Search Engine to Yahoo for $1 Million in 1997
2. In 2013, Global Internet Usage Dropped 40% During Google’s Five-Minute Outage
Takeaway: Surround yourself with people who are smarter than you, people who challenge you, and people who inspire you to learn more.😇😇
What are some interesting Google facts that you know?

I got my first job when I was 9 years old in medicine. No, I am not a medicine prodigy I was a translator, but if there ever was a good time to flaunt my medical background, this is it😂.
I made 400Ksh which is roughly 3$. I was overjoyed, my mind ran images of all the different candy brands I could buy😎. I was a young girl with some money in my pocket and it felt good!
This lasted for a whole 30-minutes before my mum suggested to "keep it safe for me". And we all know how that story goes😂.
Looking back now, this was one of the happiest jobs I ever did. Apart from not having to go to school (which was absolutely amazing😅), I was introduced to service at a young age, and I associated with people of different races, economic stature, and nationalities. And the best part was that I could easily engage with all of them.
With such an early start in serving people, you might think I've had an easy career path. This was definitely not the case. Like many youths, I focused on bagging the cash. My excuse was I had to take care of myself. (This explains why I was always broke and always stressed😒). This path was hard and full of disappointments.
Today, I help businesses and individuals reach their highest potential through marketing and coaching, and this saved my life. I realized that I have value to offer. I have a purpose to fulfill and my life has meaning. I was doing what I was brought on earth to do. To Serve.🤩
No matter how challenging life gets, I hold on to it. I think of the seed which has dirt thrown on top of it but is not bothered because it knows that it will grow to be a mighty tree. And now I can proudly say that I know my path.🥳
Do you need help with your company's marketing, or do you want to be coached to live a happier and more successful life? DM me today, this is my life's purpose and it would be quite an honor to serve you.

I have three things I've added to my daily routine to ensure I am ready for the day.🤗
1. Meditation
This is the first thing I do. I won't lie and say it has been easy. I have been seduced by sleep a couple of times.😂
I usually take this time to visualize the happiest version of myself.
To meditate successfully, I sit upright, close my eyes and focus on the 'me' I want to be.
2. Exercise
Exercising is not my cup of tea. If there was another way to burn calories and up my energy that doesn't involve me running out of breath I'd sign up.😅
I however love the exhilarating feeling you get after working out. It is also motivating when you push your body while ignoring the voice in your head screaming for you to give up😂.
3. Reading
This is something I always look forward to.😎
After struggling to remain awake while meditating and doing a 30-minute workout that seemed to last for days😂, I can peacefully sit and read an amazing book and forget the pain I have endured😂.
I always read two types of books.
1. A spiritual book. (I am currently reading "The Power of Intention"-By Wayne Dyer.)
2. A skill development book. I am currently reading "Start with why"-by Simon Sinek
I would love to be as disciplined as the army and follow the routine to a 't' but sometimes I skip one of them (exercise 😂).
When this happens I accept that I failed, forgive myself and promise to do better next time.
Do you have a morning routine? How is it helping your day?
