It's not uncommon to feel like we always have to say something, share something, or pour into others. That's just it, thoughโ€”we ๐น๐ธ๐ธ๐ฟ like we have to do these things, but sometimes it's not what God is calling us to do.

๐–๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ข๐Ÿ, ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐จ๐ง, ๐†๐จ๐ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ?

What if He's saying, โ€œ๐‘‡โ„Ž๐‘–๐‘  ๐‘–๐‘  ๐‘“๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ ๐‘ฆ๐‘œ๐‘ข. ๐ท๐‘œ๐‘›'๐‘ก ๐‘”๐‘–๐‘ฃ๐‘’ ๐‘–๐‘ก ๐‘Ž๐‘ค๐‘Ž๐‘ฆ.โ€ ๐Ÿ’Ž

Some things are simply between you and God.

We don't have to manufacture a move of God because we feel like something should be happening. Because truthfully, there are times when nothing needs to happen through us. No word needs to be forced. No performance needs to be created.

In the secret place, where there is no mic, no stage, no audienceโ€”God is still God.
He ministers there.
He speaks there.
He meets us there.

What a beautiful reminder that even in the secret place, we can dwell in His presence and under His covering. And sometimes, the move of God is happening privatelyโ€”in the heart of a daughter who finally sat down long enough to let her Father pour into her. It's okay if you don't have something extra to give today.

๐ต๐‘’ ๐‘†๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘™๐‘™. ๐ป๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ ๐บ๐‘œ๐‘‘.

We pray for this. We ask God for that. We tell Him what we desire. We ask for direction. We say we want to know Him more and have a deeper relationship with Him.

But thenโ€ฆ๐‘ค๐‘’ ๐‘‘๐‘œ๐‘›'๐‘ก ๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘ ๐‘š๐‘œ๐‘ฃ๐‘–๐‘›๐‘”.

There's always somewhere we have to be. There's always someone we have to see. There's always something we have to do. With all that we have going on:

๐–๐ก๐ž๐ง ๐๐จ ๐ฐ๐ž ๐ ๐ž๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ?

There are absolutely seasons when God calls us to ๐‘€๐‘‚๐‘‰๐ธ. But there are times when God is calling us into obedience through ๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘™๐‘™๐‘›๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ .

Stop moving. Stop doing. Stop trying to figure everything out.

๐€๐ง๐ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญโ€ฆ๐›๐ž ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ.

In the stillnessโ€”things happen!
We begin to hear God's heart more clearly. We experience His overwhelming love. We begin to distinguish His voice from our own thoughtsโ€”and hear Him above the noise of the enemy. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ We discover that while we've been trying to figure everything out, God has been fighting for us.

GEM, stillness isn't emptiness. Stillness is the place where we are filled, sharpened, and strengthened.

In the lack of motionโ€ฆ In the place where we finally stop trying to doโ€ฆ

๐‘…๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ก ๐‘–๐‘  ๐‘Ž ๐‘“๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘š ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘ค๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘ โ„Ž๐‘–๐‘.

Can we talk about worship for a minute?
When we hear the word worship, many of us immediately think about music. Often, we think of lifting our hands in church, singing our favorite worship song, ministering on a platform, or maybe even posting a worship video.

And yesโ€”those things can absolutely be expressions of worship. There's nothing wrong with them.

But worship is so much bigger than a song! In looking at the biblical language surrounding worship, we see this imagery of bowing down, prostrating oneself, reverence, and devotion.

In other words, there is a โ„Ž๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘ก ๐‘๐‘œ๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘ข๐‘Ÿ๐‘’ ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘ ๐‘ข๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘›๐‘‘๐‘’๐‘Ÿ ๐‘๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘›๐‘’๐‘๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘‘ ๐‘ก๐‘œ ๐‘ค๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘ โ„Ž๐‘–๐‘.

That detail is extremely important because worship isn't simply about what I do for Godโ€”it's about how I live my life in Him.

A life that says:
โ€œ๐†๐จ๐, ๐ˆ ๐š๐ฆ ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ.โ€

My gifts are Yours.
My ministry is Yours.
My business is Yours.
My family is Yours.
My plans are Yours.
My time is Yours.
My LIFE is Yours.
And you know what else can be worship?

๐‘…๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ก.

Because if God tells me to move and I moveโ€”that's obedience.
But if God tells me to rest and I keep moving because I need to feel productiveโ€ฆthat's the opposite of obedience. ๐Ÿ‘€

So sometimes worship looks like ๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘ฆ๐‘–๐‘›๐‘” ๐‘ ๐‘œ๐‘š๐‘’๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘–๐‘›๐‘” ๐‘‘๐‘œ๐‘ค๐‘›.
The flesh wants to do, but worship says:
โ€œ๐†๐จ๐, ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž ๐ข๐ฌ ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌโ€”๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ง ๐ฐ๐ก๐ž๐ง ๐ฐ๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ'๐ซ๐ž ๐š๐ฌ๐ค๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฆ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐จ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ฉ.โ€

๐ผ๐‘ก'๐‘  ๐‘Ž โ„Ž๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘ก ๐‘๐‘œ๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘ข๐‘Ÿ๐‘’.

And when my life is surrendered to God, even my rest can become an offering unto Him. ๐Ÿ’Ž

๐‘Šโ„Ž๐‘’๐‘› ๐‘ฆ๐‘œ๐‘ข ๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ก, ๐บ๐‘œ๐‘‘ ๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘™๐‘™ ๐‘š๐‘œ๐‘ฃ๐‘’๐‘ !

In Judges 4, we meet Deborahโ€”a prophetess and judge over Israel. There's this small detail in her story that I love: She would sit under this tree, the Palm of Deborahโ€ฆand the people would ๐‘๐‘œ๐‘š๐‘’ ๐‘ก๐‘œ โ„Ž๐‘’๐‘Ÿ. (Judges 4:4โ€“5) This stood out for me because she wasn't out and about, rushing here, rushing there.

Noโ€”she simply sat.

That is so powerful because in the sittingโ€”๐†๐จ๐ ๐ฐ๐š๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐ !

As she remained positioned and available, (listening to the voice of God I would imagine), the people ๐ถ๐ด๐‘€๐ธ ๐‘‡๐‘‚ ๐ป๐ธ๐‘….

She moved when it was TIME to move.
Seeโ€”sometimes we confuse being busy with being fruitful. We can feel like if weโ€™re not constantly moving, building, producing, posting, planning, or figuring something outโ€ฆnothing is happening.

But GEM, God does not stop moving because you sat down. ๐Ÿ’Ž

Resting in Holy Spirit doesnโ€™t mean youโ€™ve abandoned your assignment.
It means youโ€™re trusting God and are remaining positioned until He gives the next instruction.

And when He says move?

๐‘€๐‘œ๐‘ฃ๐‘’!

But until then, you donโ€™t have to be "doing" simply to do.

Sometimes we hear Holy Spirit whisper โ€œresetโ€ and immediately think we need to restructure something. We start thinking of new strategy or begin moving things around.

But...what if the formula is actually:

RESET = REST

This makes me think about David. Throughout his story, we see often of how he sought Godโ€™s guidance before moving. He didnโ€™t always think: well I need to do this or I need to do that. His posture was โ€œGod, what would you have me do?โ€ I love that!

It speaks volumes because David understood that nothing he did mattered unless it was the will of God. As Christians, we can be so eager to build, that we often miss the moments when weโ€™re called to wait.

โ€œBut they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strengthโ€ฆโ€โ€” Isaiah 40:31

We recite it. We encourage others with it.

But do we trust God enough to actually wait?

These are questions that I too have been asking myself. The truth of the matter isโ€” this season may not be about doing moreโ€”

Maybe itโ€™s time to put a few things down. Get quiet. Sit with God. And trust Him to show you whatโ€”and whenโ€”to pick things back up.

There is purpose in the pause, GEM. ๐Ÿ’Ž

Reset. Rest. Surrender.

Woman of God- REST can sometimes look like โ€œPUT IT DOWN!โ€ It can be as simple as admitting- โ€œGod never told me to do that! He never told me to carry this!โ€ Releasing that weight is so freeing AND it helps you return into alignment with what God actually told you to do. So obey God ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ Rest ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿพ

Yes there is work to be done! Yes youโ€™re being called for such a time as thisโ€ผ๏ธ But youโ€™re also called to REST in JESUS, remembering that your strength comes from Him!
