A HUGE THANK YOU to the few but mighty people that stepped up to help set up and tear down the race. It is because of selfless and generous people like you we can keep the derby going.

It's a beautiful day for racing!!! Good luck to all the racers in today's Local Championship Race!!!

Well, Mother Nature was a bit difficult but we managed to get the races in in between the showers. Thank you to those that came out and spent the day with us, we appreciate your support! Congratulations to all the racers and we wish a very Happy Mother's Day to all those special Ladies in your lives!!!!

**RALLY RACE CHANGE**
We have had to make a change to our Spring Rally. Our Spring Rally will be SATURDAY (ONLY) MAY 11,2024.
This change is due to the Cleveland Marathon that is taking place on the original weekend. This decision was made to make travel and access to our track as usual. There are several road closures that occur during the marathon and it makes getting to our race track extremely difficult. Sorry for any inconvenience and we hope you will still race with us.

Come race with us!!! Cleveland Area Soap Box Derby is having our Spring Rally on May 18 and 19, 2024!!!
1 Double and 1 Single each day

Race fees as follows: $100 if racing all 4 races, if racing less than 4 $30 per race

Registration will open at 7am and close at 8am

Scales will open at 7:30am

All American rules apply
All cars can and will be inspected prior to racing to ensure safety and rules

Race Day rules will be discussed during drivers meeting prior to racing

Cleveland Area Soap Box Derby regrets to share that one of our dear Board members has passed away. Dave Martina passed away on June 15, 2023. Dave was the proud dad of Mason, step-dad to Alyssa and husband to Michelle. He was the owner of Martina Marble, Mosaic and Terrazzo Co. And Martina Monuments and Memorials. Dave and his wife Michelle also owned and operated The Tradesmen Tavern on State Rd. In Parma. Dave's racing team was Team Tavern. He was so giving and generous as he gave countless Area kids the chance and opportunity to race in the Cleveland Soap Box Derby. You may be familiar with his quest to find a driver for a car as he often had it up on the side billboard of the tavern " I need drivers for the Soap Box Derby". We always looked forward to helping him and the family of the racer he brought to race. It often meant helping him race prep a car in the back of the tavern in the eleventh hour! Dave was so adamant to give kids the chance no matter what it took. We always razzed him when he came to the deck with a handful of scattered paperwork and he opened his checkbook, and his heart, for the betterment of Derby. What do I need to sign? How much do I owe? Who needs something? How can I help? These were his questions every time! He always gave us a hug and smile. When his son Mason won The Cleveland Local he welcomed the entire Derby family to the Tavern to celebrate!!! It was a joyous and memorable event! He proudly displayed the Championship trophy and Mason's car in the tavern. While our hearts are sad to have lost a great one we are grateful for the mark he left on our organization. Dave was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was a good human and will greatly missed. Funeral arrangements are listed below.
