Clearing up the rookie narrative.
Shedeur Sanders completely shut down the narrative about his rookie year by dropping the single-highest single-game passing yardage out of any rookie last season. ๐ค๐

Denzel Ward completely changed the dynamic of our defense the exact moment he was drafted back in 2018.
Having TJ Carrie holding down the opposite boundary and Jabrill Peppers laying hits in the box gave that early group a highly competitive edge.
The front office continuously looked for the right combinations, matching veteran safeties like Damarious Randall and Morgan Burnett with young corners like Greedy Williams.
The 2021 season was when everything finally stabilized into a legitimately well-rounded unit.
Greg Newsome II stepped onto the field and played with the poise of a veteran right away, giving us a formidable pairing on the outside. ๐
With Ronnie Harrison and John Johnson III taking over the safety roles, our communication issues downfield completely vanished.
Looking back at this four-year stretch shows just how much effort went into turning Cleveland into a destination where passing offenses struggle to survive. ๐ค

NFL.com named Maliek Collins the Cleveland Brownsโ most underappreciated player entering the 2026 season.
Before his season-ending quad injury, Collins was putting together the most productive stretch of his career with 6.5 sacks in 11 games. Playing next to Myles Garrett, he gave Cleveland a dangerous interior pass-rush presence that could collapse pockets from the inside.
If Collins returns healthy and Mason Graham keeps developing, the Browns defensive front could be a nightmare again.

In trade talks with Philadelphia, the Cleveland Browns front office reportedly pushed to include the Eagles' young defensive tackle in the deal.
While that specific package fell through because Philly viewed Carter as an untouchable cornerstone.
