Cuyahoga storms into the T20 Finals defeating Cleveland Blazers!
Put into bat first Cuyahoga lost first wicket in first over and soon after second wicket of Anantha was bowled by a fantastic delivery in 4th. Things were looking tough but Dhruv’s best knock of the season came at the right time for the rescue. A 69 run 3rd wicket partnership steadied things for Cuyahoga who ended up setting a commendable target of 153.
Defending the target, Sachin got the first wicket and soon after 2nd wicket fell in the 5th. Things were looking tough for Blazers down 27-2 in 5 overs.
Although Blazers only lost 4 wicket Cuyahoga’s disciplined bowling never let Blazers felt like they had a chance who eventually fell 19 runs short of the target.

Cuyahoga wins the QFs against Kent State 🐿.

Put in to bat first Cuyahoga played thru some light drizzle and heavy outfield but managed to put a decent target of 128 for the Squirrels.
Early wickets kept Squirrels in check thru out the chase, Tejasai tried to carry the load to keep the game interesting but he eventually went down swinging taking any hopes left for the squirrels. Cuyahoga plays Cleveland Blazers next in the Semis.

Cuyahoga suffers first loss of the season.
Batting first Cleveland United threatened to put up a big score but some timely wickets and disciplined bowling restricted United to 148 in 20 overs, still a challenging target for a shot handed Cuyahoga team.
Chasing 149 was always gona be tough, Cuyahoga couldn’t get in the groove and kept losing consistent wickets. Ajay from United took a Hat-trick thanks to two outstanding catches.
Cuyahoga ended up scoring 107/9 in 20 overs dropping the first game of the season!

Cuyahoga split the two games last weekend.
In the first game against the Cleveland Krushers, Cuyahoga batted first and put up a challenging target of 142 runs thanks to Puru who continues to get runs at the top of the order with 44 of 34.
Defending the target of 142 was never gona be easy as the out field tends to get quicker as the day progresses. Thanks to some sharp fielding Cuyahoga managed to get 3 run outs and held on to take the W home.

The winning streak stays alive for Cuyahoga against a very good CRC-Red team.
After winning the toss Cuyahoga opted to bat first on a heavy outfield. The Run-machine Ahmed was retired for 0 but Bilal and Anantha steadied the ship with a 50+ second wicket partnership. Sensible innings from Moen helped Cuyahoga to post a decent target of 134.
CRC openers gave an excellent start with a 76 run first wicket stand. It looked like the game was slipping away from CUCC as openers were threatening to open the flood gates any minute and take the game away from CUCC but after getting the first initial wicket, CUCC bowlers kept getting wickets at regular intervals assisted by very economical bowling to successfully defended the target. A very close win by 3 runs keeps Cuyahoga undefeated so far in this tournament!
MOM: Anantha the leading scorer in the game for CUCC - 43

Cuyahoga played 2nd Game of the double header against a very good Lions team. 2 early wickets from Ahmed followed by a solid bowling performance from the bowlers restricted Lions to 134/6 in 20 overs. Batting second Puru did most of the work with 69 not out to successfully chase down the target. Puru was again the MOM for the second straight game for his unbeaten 69* and claiming 1 wicket in his 4 overs.

Cuyahoga went 2/2 last weekend!
Batting first against the Ohio Challengers, Puru, Ahmed and Bilal gave a strong start but things went down hill with Cuyahoga going from 112-3 to 137 all out. 137 is not a bad score on a heavy outfield but tough to defend on a smaller Warrensville ground.
OCC were in decent position to change down the target with 90-4 in 13 overs but the game took a tragic turn the 5th wicket fell at 124 and from there on OCC were bowled out for 125!
Amazing bowling and temperament shown by the bowlers and who shattered the wickets 6 times!

Cricket Season is officially back! A warm welcome to a lot of new faces for Cuyahoga this year!

After a couple rescheduled games due to extreme Cleveland weather, Cuyahoga played it’s season opener against the Eries All Stars. The tradition of losing toss continues as Erie won the toss and decided to bat first. Sensible innings from Naren helped Erie put up a respectable total of 138.
For Cuyahoga, Dhruv was in a hurry to chase down the target but went down after hitting a quick 43 of 27 with 5 HUGE 6s. Puru, Anantha and the new comer Vamsi chipped in to successfully chase down the target in 17.2 overs.
Dhruv was awarded the MOM for 2 wickets and 43 runs!

CUCC takes their first loss in regional round to end up number 2 overall in the regional ranking. Playing Dynamites CUCC was chasing 204 thanks fo a special knock by Bhagi Singh Jagmohan. CUCC started hot at 80/2 around the first break. But not having enough in the tank saw them 28 short. Special effort by Rishabh did they give them a glimpse of hope. CUCC will start divisional round next week. Stay tuned for updates.

Israr’s all round performance steals the show and gets CUCC to 6-0 in regional round. Put into bat first CUCC was on the back foot from first over itself being down 40/4 at 10th over. Mature knocks from Amit Mali, flamboyant century by Israr and good contribution at end by Rishabh got CUCC to 193 at end of 35 overs. Bowling was on song as well Rishabh Bahel picking up 2 wickets, followed up with Sadiq taking 2 wickets, however Israr yet again came to the party by taking 4 wickets in his 2 overs.

Cuyahoga extends their win streak to 5 after beating OCCC. Batting first on a damp ground Cuyahoga’s bats came to PLAY! A quick start by the openers was followed up by a 100 plus partnership between Ahmed and Rahul that helped Cuyahoga set a monster target of 240 in 25 for OCCC.
A special thanks to 18 year old Usaid who played his first game for Cuyahoga after 4 years and bagged 4 wickets and helped secure the victory.
