The GUMA dynasty keeps growing 💎🙌
Two big promotions this month.

Our guy John has been with us since he was a child and has now received his first adult belt. Congratulations on your blue belt young man, lets keep going and you’ll go far!

What can be said about Julian Alcantara, he’s made of rubber, tough as nails and is now a purple belt. If you rolled with him you know how technical and clever he can be, way to go!

When you see these guys, say congrats. It’s no small feat to come in daily, grind out the rounds, evaluate and do it again.

A review like this speaks volumes to the culture we created at GUMA. Our goal is to prepare you to be the best version of yourself but also making sure you have a clean and safe mat space to achieve that.
Wash your gis, take a shower, use defense wipes, coconut oil, whatever. Don’t be gross, and cut your nails.

Our brother Rob is no longer with us. But the memories of training, laughing and talking will forever be emblazoned into our memories at GUMA.

Rob was a courageous and fearless training partner. He always pushed the pace and made us work harder. Those same qualities carried into his career as a Captain with the Newark Fire Department. Rob served his community and country as a martial artist, a veteran and as a first responder — always willing to help, always respectful.

We will miss Rob and his warrior spirit.

Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, loved ones, and the Newark Fire Department.
