I can’t talk about this enough!!! 👏🥎

STOP LIMITING KIDS TO ONE POSITION SO YOUNG.

I’ve had girls get recruited to play infield in college and end up playing outfield once they got there. Why? Because that’s where their team needed them. Their options were simple… adapt and learn or sit and not get much playing time.

That’s why it blows my mind when I see 9, 10, 11, 12 year olds already being labeled as “only a pitcher,” “only a shortstop,” “only a catcher,” etc.

And pitcher only at that age?! 🚩🚩🚩 I’m sorry, but RUNNNN. 😂

Young players need to PLAY. Put them in the infield. Put them in the outfield. Let your pitcher play another position. Let them be uncomfortable. Let them learn how to read the ball from different spots on the field. Let them develop into ATHLETES, not just one position.

As they get older, their primary position may become more obvious. But right now? Give them tools. Give them options.

Because the higher you go in this game, the more valuable it is to be able to hear, “We need you here today,” and confidently say, “I got it.”

Kids shouldn’t be limited before they’ve even had the chance to find out what they’re capable of. 🥎❤️
