I’m getting older…and my goals are changing.
Not because I’ve lost my drive.
Actually, I think I finally understand what I’m driving toward.
The older I get, the more I realize my goals aren’t about proving anything to anybody. I’ve spent a lot of my life pushing, working, and always looking for the next challenge.
This year, I want my goals to be different.
I want them to be about becoming better, being grateful for what I have, and making sure the things I spend my time on actually matter.
PERSONAL
Take better care of myself.
Keep working toward getting stronger, healthier, and improving my body composition. Not chasing perfection. Just becoming a better version of myself and appreciating what my body can still do.
Do something that challenges me.
Pick one physical challenge this year that gives me something to train for and gets me outside my comfort zone. I don’t care about winning it. I want to prepare for it, finish it, and remind myself that I’m still willing to do hard things.
Be intentional about saying thank you.
I want to do a better job of thanking people for the conversations, advice they’ve shared, and simply the time they’ve chosen to spend with me. Time is something none of us get back, and I don’t ever want to take someone giving me theirs for granted.
Get healthier. Challenge myself. Show gratitude. Keep building. Help more people. Those are goals that mean something to me.
Maybe getting older isn’t about slowing down.
Maybe it’s about finally figuring out what’s worth chasing.
