When you hear “VITA volunteer,” you might immediately think:

“I don’t know how to do taxes.”

That’s okay—because not every VITA volunteer prepares tax returns.

You could welcome taxpayers as a Greeter, help with data entry as a Starter, or use your bilingual skills as a Spanish Interpreter.

Prefer to learn tax preparation? We provide FREE training for that too.

There’s a place for different skills, schedules, and experience levels on the 2027 VITA team.

VITA volunteers choose how much time they’re able to give during our 12-week tax season. Your commitment could be as little as 3 hours.

Choose from:

• Morning shifts
• Afternoon shifts
• Evening shifts
• Saturdays

You can also choose from multiple locations throughout Chester County and surrounding areas.

No previous tax experience is required, and training is FREE.

VITA is looking for volunteers for the 2027 tax season, and FREE training is provided.

There are several ways to serve, including roles that don’t involve preparing taxes at all:

• Greeters
• Spanish Interpreters
• Data Entry Starters
• Tax Preparers
• Site Coordinators

All you need is a willingness to learn and a heart to serve.

With locations throughout Chester County and one in Montgomery County, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.

LTM Executive Director Bill Shaw will be joining the panel for the next Connects: Conversations with Coatesville!

This conversation will explore economic stability and its connection to health and well-being, including employment, housing, food security, family resources, and economic mobility right here in Coatesville.

This will be a great conversation for our LTM community to tune into and hear from local leaders working directly in our community.
