Entering this Holiday season, we are truly thankful for our generous group of event sponsors and supporters who made this year's CIVGP the best to date! In addition, this event would not be possible without the support of our volunteers, city officials & employees, vendors, fire & EMS staff, police, and of course the people of Coatesville! Happy Thanksgiving!!

So interesting how Chester County is so inter-connected. The CIVGP is proud of the fact that Wawa also is a sponsor of our event!
Did you know... Wawa, Inc. actually began as an iron works! The company began in 1803 as an iron foundry in New Jersey. In 1890, company owner George Wood moved to Delaware County, PA and took an interest in dairy farming and the family began a small processing plant in Wawa, Pa, in 1902. The milk business was a huge success, due to its quality, cleanliness and process. As home delivery of milk declined in the early 1960s, Grahame Wood, George’s grandson, opened the first Wawa Food Market in 1964 as an outlet for dairy products. Neat connection, right?

How cool is this up close view of the 1948 Royal Enfield 125 Flying Flea restoration - owned by Johnny Bonick who was winner of our bike division in the CIVGP Auto/Moto Show! We asked John to send us some back history on this project (with photos) - and his wonderful wife provided the wonderful photos of the final project! Here's John's backstory on the bike 🏍🏍🏍
John's friend Bob, an avid motorcycle collector, came into his lab one day and said, "Still looking for a project? I have a Flying Flea for you."
What is that?
"They put parachutes on them back in WWII and pushed them out of airplanes for the British troops."
John was hooked!
Back in 1987, Bob was at an estate sale and saw a dumpster and took a look inside. There was the bike in pieces with the original paperwork! He took out every nut and bolt, brought it to the folks holding the sale and asked what they wanted for it.
Five dollars - yup $5!
Hence it was named The Five Dollar Flea.
"I laced the wheels and took my time learning one step at a time. The frame had a crack in one of the welds. My good friend Billy, who is a master welder, said he could fix it. He had the right idea to match the other "not so good looking" production welds. All in all, I had fun throughout the restoration process and was not expecting to take best of show! I am honored. This was the first time the bike saw day light."
