Had some dolphins come in and swim with us on today’s scuba dive! Really rare to have them stay divers. We were on the west side of Klein Bonaire! They came within 10 feet of me diving my Silent Diving CCR. Was able to look them in the eye. Thanks again Deep Blue Adventures, Mike Fowler and Silent Diving, and Buddy Dive Bonaire!!

When Sea Hunt premiered in 1958, it was unlike anything audiences had ever seen before. At a time when most TV shows were set on dusty Western plains or city streets, Sea Hunt dove beneath the surface — literally — bringing viewers into the thrilling world of underwater adventure.

The series starred Lloyd Bridges as Mike Nelson, a former Navy frogman who made his living as a freelance scuba diver. Each episode followed Nelson as he took on dangerous missions — rescuing people trapped underwater, investigating sunken wrecks, or stopping criminals who thought the ocean could hide their crimes.

Filmed almost entirely underwater, Sea Hunt was a technical marvel for its time. The breathtaking diving sequences, crystal-clear cinematography, and authentic ocean settings made it stand out from every other show on television. It wasn’t just exciting — it was different, a refreshing change of pace that captured viewers’ imaginations.

Lloyd Bridges brought both strength and sincerity to the role, turning Mike Nelson into a quiet hero whose courage and professionalism inspired a generation — including his own sons, Beau and Jeff Bridges, who both later became Hollywood legends in their own right.

Sea Hunt aired until 1961, but its legacy endures as a groundbreaking series that proved adventure didn’t have to happen on horseback — sometimes, it could happen 50 feet below the surface.

Cocos proved to be worth all the travel! Truely an incredible week. These pictures just scratch the surface, pun intended. Thanks Deep Blue Adventures and Aggressor Fleet for a true bucket list trip.
