A 7-year-old Southwest Virginia girl is fighting for her life and her family is asking for prayers ❤️
Addi Claire, of Dante, Virginia, has spent much of her young life fighting after being diagnosed with the rare genetic disorder Propionic Acidemia at just 2 weeks old.
Two years ago, Addi underwent a 14-hour surgery in which doctors removed her spleen, appendix, pancreas and gallbladder. The surgery resulted in Addi developing diabetes.
Now, Addi is facing another major battle.After testing positive for Rhinovirus, Addi developed double pneumonia and eventually became so sick that she needed to be placed on a ventilator. Her family traveled from Southwest Virginia to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where she remains in the ICU.
Addi has already endured a failed attempt to come off the ventilator and continues to have good days and difficult days as she fights to recover.
Her family says prayers are the most important thing they can ask for right now. They are also raising money to help with daily living expenses, bills and travel costs while Addi remains hospitalized nearly five hours from home. Her family’s business has also been shut down while they remain by her side.
Her mom says Addi has been a fighter for all seven years of her life… and she has faith her little girl will keep fighting!
