Yesterday’s walk through the rose garden brought me right to the heart of Pratyahara, the 5th limb of yoga, or sense withdrawal. 🥀
It’s so easy to move through life reacting to the noise; outside opinions, social pressure, constant notifications, or focusing on the “thorns” in our experiences. But when we turn down the volume of the external world, we make space to appreciate every moment for what it is.
We learn to: Focus on the beauty of the bloom rather than the thorns Hear the wind blow and watch the leaves change without needing to fill the silence.
Remember that no matter what season we’re in, we always hold the capacity to rebloom.
Pratyahara isn’t about shutting out life; it’s about pulling your awareness home so you can stop consuming distractions and finally appreciate your own innate beauty.
Pratyahara assists our practice by turning our attention inward, softening our gaze, and moving from intuition. ✨
