Yes. For the 2026–27 MHSAA school year, the physical requirement is:

Every student participating in MHSAA sports needs a pre-participation sports physical.

The physical must have been performed on or after April 15, 2026 to be valid for the 2026–27 school year.

The MHSAA Health Questionnaire cannot substitute for the physical.

The MHSAA says its two-page physical form has not changed.

This applies to middle-school athletes as well, and MHSAA specifically tells schools to notify families of students entering middle school about the April 15 cutoff.

So, for your middle-school volleyball season, a physical dated April 14, 2026 or earlier would NOT qualify for 2026–27.

A physical dated April 15, 2026 or later qualifies for this school year, assuming the form/clearance is properly completed.
