Working alone can create additional safety concerns. Take a few simple precautions to help protect yourself.

🔒 Lock all outside doors and windows when you are working alone.

💡 Keep the office well-lit, including areas around entrances and exits.

🚪 Position yourself where you can see the door and avoid sitting with your back to an entrance.

👀 Stay aware of your surroundings and watch for unfamiliar or suspicious activity.

📱 Keep your phone nearby and make sure you can quickly call for help if needed.

If you find yourself in a threatening situation, your primary goal is to get away and call for help.

🏃‍♀️ Escape when you can. Create distance and get to a safe location.

🚪 Know your exits and have an escape plan when showing properties or working alone.

🥋 Consider taking a self-defense class. Learning awareness, prevention, and basic self-defense skills can help you feel more prepared to respond in an emergency.
