🥋 Meet the Gulf District Chair – Brandan Rhoades

The AAU Taekwondo Gulf District is pleased to introduce Brandan Rhoades as the Gulf District Chair.

With nearly 30 years of experience in taekwondo, Brandan Rhoades has dedicated his career to athlete development, coaching, leadership, and building strong taekwondo communities. He serves as the Head Coach of Texas A&M Taekwondo, the owner and Head Instructor of Infinity Taekwondo in College Station, a Coordinator for Texas United Taekwondo, and a Coordinator for Global Athletes United Taekwondo. Throughout his career, he has coached athletes from their first days in the sport to the national and international stage while developing programs centered on character, leadership, and long-term athlete development.

During a recent conversation about the future of the Gulf District, one message stood above all others and was echoed time and again:

"Athletes come first."

"That philosophy will guide every decision I make as Gulf District Chair," said Master Rhoades.

His vision is to build a district that delivers exceptional experiences for athletes, families, coaches, officials, and clubs through professionally managed events, fair and consistent competition, meaningful athlete development opportunities, and clear, transparent communication.

Under his leadership, the Gulf District will focus on:

🥋 Delivering exceptional tournament experiences.
🏆 Expanding athlete development through camps, seminars, and collaborative training opportunities.
👨‍🏫 Developing a referee pipeline while expanding coach and referee education.
🤝 Strengthening collaboration between clubs throughout the district.
📅 Improving communication and providing timely, reliable information to the AAU Taekwondo community.

Texas A&M Taekwondo is wrapping up the 2025–2026 season with our end-of-year banquet, and moments like this always mean a lot.

Out of all the awards and medals I have received in my martial arts career, this is one of my favorites. Not because of how it looks, but because of what it represents.

The sentiments.
The relationships.
The impact.

When I started Infinity Taekwondo, I had one goal:
to make a positive impact on every student I who steps onto our mats. To help them become a better version of themselves.

Awards like this remind me that the mission is working.
That the lessons, the standards, the values, and the character that the Infinity Taekwondo team pours into every practice are being felt… and understood.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do what I love and to impact lives in a way only martial arts can.

Proud of this team! This is the smallest team we have taken to Collegiate Nationals over the past few years due to conflicts with finals and Texas State Championships. But the athletes that were able to attend, showed up and left their all out there. Effort always comes first with all of our teams and programs!

This Saturday, Infinity Taekwondo joined our monthly Texas United Cross Training. This isn’t just another practice. It’s an environment built around growth, accountability, and high-level collaboration.

All training together.
All pushing each other.
All learning from one another.
