Greetings one and all. As we all know, life has many twists and turns. I have had quite a few in the past 12 months and even more in recent weeks. Because of changes in the personal and business life I have chosen to no longer be the host promoter for the Southern Illinois Karate Championships. I have spoken with several other friends in the martial arts circle and at this time no one else is able to take over the reins. So unless someone out there who is reading this notice is interested and wants to contact me about taking it over, at this time, the 45th SIKC is not going to occur. It was a great run for Don & I, very glad to have done what we did in continuing the legacy of awesome competition, in bringing the SIKC to the modern era with the implementation of Uventex and definitely some of the best award medals in the country. If anything were to change and a new host promoter were to arise, it will be announced here promptly.
Thank you for your support, Dennis Ford.

What a great day! Thanks to the volunteers, scorekeepers, registrars, judges, and those friends who just plain helped and supported from early morning set up to afternoon clean up. You are all appreciated very much and hope the day was rewarding for you.
For the record, 147 competitors and if it wasn't for Spring Break there would have been many more.
Special thanks to Premier Martial Arts and American Karate who were neck and neck in the race for the Most Supportive School down to the very day.
And to those from the Art of Martial Arts Dojo with Sensei Stacey Huffman & his wife Rose, Sensei Tina Hurley & special-Mom-for-the-day Torie Clark, our hearts are forever with you and it was our privilege to honor Ashlie Drayke. Emma Lister, Haylie Bell, Barbara King, your tribute Tennese Ish fan kata was beautiful and I am sure it touched everyone's heart.
NOW, post lots of pictures here so I and others can see just what all happened!! 😉😂👏👏

This is the anticipated order of events. Divisions may be moved during the day as other rings finish sooner. Announcements will be made when those changes occur.
Registration at 8:30, events begin at 10.
There will be an opening ceremony as we will honor those fellow martial artists who have passed away recently. Including a special tribute by one of the attending dojos. Don't miss it!
5 divisions have been split into 2 smaller divisions because they had 9 or more competitors. Hopefully those involved have received an email concerning the change. You will also be reminded of the change at Check-In. As of now, those new divisions will remain in the same ring.
