📣 Meet Madisin – CBYAA Fundraising Coordinator! 💛🖤

Hi everyone! Madisin here — your JV Cheer Head Coach and Fundraising Coordinator for the CBYAA Board!

As silly as it may sound, fundraising was always something I actually enjoyed back in school, so I’m excited to be able to bring that into CBYAA too.

I love coming up with creative ideas, organizing events, spreading awareness, and finding fun ways to get both our kids and the community involved. Fundraising is such an important part of helping our programs grow and making sure we can continue creating great experiences for our athletes.

I’m excited to see what we can come up with together and help make this another successful year for CBYAA! 📣🏈

🏈📣 GAME DAY REMINDERS, DRIFTER FAMILIES! 🖤💛🤍

We’re excited to see everyone this Saturday! Before heading out, please take a minute to review our Game Day Rules.

Our goal is simple: keep the day safe, positive, and fun for all of our players, cheerleaders, coaches, officials, and families.

A few important reminders:
• Show good sportsmanship and respect to everyone
• Support ALL of our Drifter athletes
• No bikes, cars, or pets around the field area
• Golf carts may be driven in for parking, but must remain parked during games and should not be driven around the field area
• Spectators must stay behind the fence line and off the field
• No smoking or va**ng
• Bring your own chair for seating
• If weather is questionable, check your messages and CBYAA social media before heading to the field

Thank you for helping us create the kind of environment our kids deserve.

📣 Meet Kait – CBYAA Marketing Coordinator!🏈

Hi everyone! I’m Kait, and I serve as the Marketing Coordinator for CBYAA!

I’m one of the newer faces around CBYAA. My boys have been playing for the past two seasons, but my significant other, Coach Travis Irvine, grew up right here in Colonial Beach and is a former CBYAA athlete himself. So while CBYAA may be newer to me, it’s definitely not new to our family!

After watching my boys fall in love with the program and seeing Travis come back to the field as a coach, I wanted to find my own way to get involved and give back.

Social media, community outreach, organizing, and getting people involved are right up my alley, so stepping into the Marketing Coordinator role was a pretty natural fit. Most of the posts, announcements, reminders, photos, and little spotlights you see here are coming from me. 😂

One of my favorite parts has been getting to know more of our families and finding ways to highlight the coaches, volunteers, and kids who make this program what it is.

You’ll usually find me somewhere around the field with my phone in my hand, taking pictures, making a post, helping wherever I’m needed, and of course cheering on my boys and all of our Drifters! 🖤💛

🏈 Meet Peggy Straughan – CBYAA Board Treasurer!📣

CBYAA has been part of Peggy’s life for a long time. Her own kids grew up in the organization through football and cheer, and even though they’ve aged out, Peggy clearly hasn’t. 😂

Over the years, she has served CBYAA as both Secretary and Treasurer, and she’s now back serving as our Board Treasurer.

One of her favorite parts of being involved is seeing kids she remembers from her daycare days now out on the field playing, cheering, growing up, and becoming part of the same community.

Peggy believes youth sports give kids so much more than something to do. They help build confidence, discipline, teamwork, friendships, accountability, and a sense of belonging.

She may not have a child on the field anymore, but she still has plenty of reasons to cheer from the sidelines. ❤️

We’re so thankful to have Peggy continuing to support CBYAA and helping make these opportunities possible for the next generation of Drifters! 🏈📣

CBYAA is looking for referees for our Fall Football season!

💵 $20 per game
📅 Every Saturday starting September 12
⏰ Approximately 8:30 AM–12:00 PM
👤 Open to ages 16+

If you enjoy football, want to earn a little extra money on Saturday mornings, and help support local youth sports, we’d love to have you!

🏈 Meet Mike Straughan – CBYAA Vice President & Commissioner

Mike Straughan has spent plenty of years on the sidelines, and it doesn’t look like he plans on leaving anytime soon! 😄

Mike has coached both Little League and high school softball and has always had a passion for youth sports. His own kids grew up playing with CBYAA and have since aged out, but Mike decided to stick around and keep giving back to the program.

Since 2023, he has served as CBYAA Vice President and League Commissioner, helping behind the scenes to keep things running and support our players, families, and coaches.

For Mike, youth sports are about a lot more than wins and losses. It’s about giving kids a place to learn teamwork, build confidence, make memories, and feel like they’re part of something.

We’re lucky to have him still hanging around the sidelines with us! 🏈⚾❤️

IMPORTANT: The form MUST be completed by the athlete’s legal parent or legal guardian, as it includes permission for CBYAA to share the child’s information and photos on social media.

🏈 CBYAA FLAG FOOTBALL FALL 2026 SCHEDULE IS HERE! 🏈

Mark those calendars! 📅 Our Team Black, Team Grey, and Team Gold athletes are ready for a great season of flag football!

Games kick off September 12th with two games every Saturday at 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM through October 17th.

⭐ Playoff Game: October 20th at 6:30 PM
🏆 Championship Game: October 24th at 10:00 AM
