No more back pain with deadlifts. Form is the key. Hip hinge is the way. I love deadlifts but only if the hip hinge movement is good to go.

The internet, including Ai, does have information about health and fitness related issues.
But it is often incorrect.
And, it does not have wisdom.
It does not know how to build a customized exercise program for you as an individual.
It can not see you move. Or feel how your muscles and joints are functioning. Ai cannot perform specific testing or treatment procedures
Ai is a tool. Not a conclusion regarding your health and wellness. It certainly cannot diagnose your pain properly.
Please work with a professional and do not get stuck in the vortex.
We cannot suddenly become an expert on a topic because of the internet.
Tips? Yes. But nuances and learning how to pivot if things do not work? Not even close.
Real, seasoned and wise professionals are here to help.
Also if you ever get a chance to see the Savannah Bananss, it is a good time!

Nocebos are terms that make people feel negatively.
The opposite of placebo.
Compressed spine is one of those terms. "My discs are compressed" or my disc is "siipped" are commonly heard by physical therapists. I heard it twice today which made me decide to post this.
First, discs do not slip. Discs can be injured and painful. They are not "out" or slipping anywhere. There is a process to helping discs heal and hopefully no longer be painful. Slipped disc sounds so much worse and it is very defeating. Let's put that nocebo on the shelf for good.
People who say such things are often lacking hope. And hope is what gets people better because hope breeds a productive mindset.
Second, if you are a human on planet earth, you definitely have a compressed spine.
Gravity is a constant none of us can escape unless we take a trip to outer space.
Fortunately, the spine is designed to withstand compression.
Back pain is super common and there are countless reasons why. But compression is generally not one of them unless there is a serious medical concern. In fact, compression is GOOD for the spine and the entire body. Without gravity and compression, our bones and muscles would waste away. It happens with astronauts.
This is another reminder that the vocabulary we use to describe our bodies and the various problems we encounter, really does matter.
I will discuss more of these terms because I honestly feel like the mindset we have about pain, injuries and imaging reports makes a huge impact on whether or not people get better.
Do you have a degenerative spine or arthritis?
If that is the label you have been given, how do you feel about it?
