First and foremost, THANK YOU to all the athletes, coaches, Masters, and parents who attended the 2026 CO AAU Taekwondo District Qualifier. THANK YOU for allowing me to serve you. THANK YOU for trusting me and the event to attend. THANK YOU for giving me the opportunity to do what I love. For 42 years Taekwondo has been a part of my life and I pride myself on being the best version of myself everyday because of it. Taekwondo has given me a great family and a greater purpose. I will continue to work hard to provide opportunities for athletes.

CONGRATULATIONS to all of the athletes who qualified for Nationals in Fort Lauderdale, FL this summer.

The event itself didn't go completely as planned as technical difficulties got the best of us first thing in the morning. Once things got going the competition was fierce and I saw lots of excitement and smiles all around. Of course there were those moments of defeat for some, there were also moments of frustration and confusion. The event was not perfect and will ALWAYS have areas where we can improve. If I follow the typical business 80-20 model. I feel that more than 80% of those who were a part of the event left on a positive note, which means that I can classify this as a success. But with the constant strive towards perfection, there are areas where we can improve. From registration to officiating to planning and ex*****on the list of improvements is neverending. I welcome opportunity to work harder and get better. Thank you for your patience and understanding though all of this.

Until next year, keep kicking and working hard. Reach out if you have any questions or comments.

Respectfully,
GM Cliff Hong
CO AAU Taekwondo District Chair
