"Great weekend ice climbing at Lake City ice park! Our group had all ability levels from a first timer, to very experienced climbers, and yet we all worked well together to ensure that everyone had fun. Saturday we climbed at Pumphouse and Sunday at Beer Garden. We had blue skies and warm weather. (We went to) Windy Point to watch the sunset Saturday night, which was an added bonus. The best part was getting to hang out with my fellow Linkup Point members – what a great group of people! We’re already planning to do it again next year." - Sally, one of our great trip leaders! Thanks to Sally, Patrick, Gina, and Joe for these great photos, among others.

The Ouray Ice Festival at Ouray Ice Park is about way more than just climbing, competing, and new gear. It's also about learning, sharing, opportunity, community, and celebration. We had the opportunity to get to personally know more of the Full Circle Everest team and to hear your amazing stories. Shoutout to Phil Henderson for your ongoing outdoor leadership efforts with Full Circle Expeditions - increasing diversity and opportunity in the outdoors to include the highest mountains. Also shoutout to Conrad Anker for supporting this effort and others like it, and coming out to the ice fest - it was a pleasure to meet you. Also props to Will Gadd for your informative fireside chat.

There was also lots of hands on climbing learning going on. There were great clinics, but there was also climbing support going on at the kids wall for new climbers, and we pitched in to setup routes and belay and coach in Between the Bridges and Scottish gullies for those that were ready for lowering into the canyon and climbing up and out. That's a little intimidating at first, but so rewarding. Awesome to see so many firsts.

Our mission at Linkup Point is to increase sports and recreation participation and progression for all. We're a public benefit company to stay focused on that. We feel like kindred spirits with these non-profits creating opportunity for all in the outdoors. On that note, shoutout to Ouray Ice Park, Always Choose Adventures , Neguse in Nature, The American Alpine Club, Friends of CAIC, and the San Juan Mountains Association for what you do for outdoor opportunity and stewardship, and reaching out here at the Ice Fest.

And finally, the parties....yes no climbing festival would be complete without the climber parties. Had a blast at the Miami vice pool party and the teenage dirtbag dance party...only at a climbing festival, lol. Great time to let loose and celebrate.

Psyched for the great ice climbing we got in at the Ouray Ice Festival at Ouray Ice Park with the awesome new climbers that we met. The ice fest is a wonderful event for competition, learning, meeting industry players, demoing, and meeting other climbers. At the end of the day, it’s about celebrating climbing and community. Linkup Point is a digital platform, but we’re ultimately about the connections, learning, and events that happen in the real world. So for the ice fest we setup routes, and invited all who were ready to hop on and climb with us.

We setup routes in Between the Bridges, and Scottish Gully. These are largely top belay which can be intimidating to those that aren’t familiar, but sometimes it’s required. Linkup Point is about connections and learning, so it was great to see people learning this technique for the first time and for some, getting over the fear of lowering into the canyon.

Next event on the ice climbing radar is the Lake City Ice Climbing Festival at the Lake City Ice Park Lake City Ice Climbs Saturday February 4th. Then our own Linkup Point ice climbing community event the weekend of February 10th. We’re a free community to connect and learn – signup for free and join the movement!

The Ouray Ice Park is a non-profit organization, so please support them by either becoming a member https://ourayicepark.com/membership or donating. Thanks to Gabriel Kruszynski and Darren Funk-Neubauer for helping with the climbing outreach. Also thanks to Rocky Talkies for the radios that worked great all weekend for us.

Awesome weekend at the Ouray Ice Climbing Festival at Ouray Ice Park! We’re proud to be sponsors of this wonderful event, and to support the non-profit Ouray Ice Park. This is the largest ice climbing festival in north America, and it’s a great time to learn, climb, have fun, compete, and meet people from across the local and international ice climbing community. Thanks to everyone who talked and climbed with us - we love sharing our passion for climbing. This is what Linkup Point is all about – sharing the love of uplifting recreational pursuits with others. We hope to see you next year at the Ouray Ice Festival for more fun … and in the meantime, connect with us on Linkup Point!

Three great Linkup Point climbing trips to Shelf Road this month. Thanks to the trip leaders and group for being great hosts, team members, and friends! We're a free and open community dedicated to participation, and progression in sports like this. It takes a community of people who want to share, lead, and be open to others to really make it work. And that's happening! Looking forward to climbs at Tanner Dome this weekend, and CityROCK gym next Friday. As always, you can signup at www.linkup-point.com or find the app - Linkup Point - in app stores.

Ice skating and hockey is best out in the wild - in this case Maroon Lake below the Maroon Bells. What a great way to start the winter and a great Aspen locals tradition. Thanks for the share Britta Briscoe and The Flying Monkeys. Looking to connect with people or a crew this winter to get outside having fun? - join the Linkup Point community at www.linkup-point.com and get out doing it!
