POV: The sun is out, and you know what that means… 🥾☀️

After some much-needed rain, today is looking like a pretty great day to hit the trails! If the Incline is on your agenda, a couple of important reminders:

🥾 Wear sturdy shoes, trails may still be wet or muddy
💧 Bring plenty of water
⛈️ Keep an eye on the weather and know when to turn around
📱 Let someone know where you’re hiking
🕐 Give yourself plenty of time to get up (and back down!)

And remember: beautiful weather can change quickly in Colorado! Stay safe, have fun and enjoy!

Jodi said it best. ❤️

Therapeutic Recreation is about so much more than an activity. It’s about building confidence, finding connection, trying something new, having fun and finding your people.

For 29 years, our adaptive waterski program has been creating opportunities for people of all abilities to discover what they’re capable of. And it’s just one of the many ways Therapeutic Recreation helps people get active, build community and create lasting memories.

Because recreation isn’t just something we do.

Recreation changes lives. 💙

🍂 Ready to find your next adventure? Fall Therapeutic Recreation registration opens next Monday! Learn more about programs and opportunities at coloradosprings.gov/trp

✨ Big changes are coming to Flanagan Park!

Construction officially kicked off this week on the Flanagan Park Rehabilitation Project, marking the beginning of an exciting transformation for this neighborhood park.

As work gets underway, you’ll notice heavy equipment and construction crews on site. Please use caution around the work zone, watch for posted signage and help keep everyone safe while improvements are in progress. Construction is expected to continue through the fall.

When complete, the revitalized park will feature:
🛝 A brand-new playground
♿ An ADA-accessible walking path with pedestrian lighting and benches
🏀 A resurfaced basketball court
🌳 Improved landscaping and irrigation
🧺 Upgrades to the picnic pavilion
🚧 New screen fencing

These improvements were shaped by years of community input and are designed to create a safer, more accessible and welcoming park for residents of all ages and abilities. The project is funded through a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) coordinated by the City of Colorado Springs Department of Housing and Homelessness Response.

Stay tuned for construction updates and progress along the way!
