Let’s talk about imposter syndrome. It’s real! Feeling you don’t belong which leads to thoughts of quitting is something I struggle with. But I choose to not let those thoughts win!

Journey entry #1: Tonight was my first practice this season after being sick and then having a tooth taken out. I did not finish the whole practice after straining my foot but that’s OK! I was in pain most of the practice, but I just took little breaks and went back out. Learned some new skating techniques so even though I didn’t last the whole practice, I still progressed and achieved something tonight! I just have to keep telling myself that it’ll only get better as long as I keep pushing myself forward. ❤️🛼

How does someone, who’s harldy ever been super active with sports or harldy engages in highly active activities and is lazy become a roller derby player? I’ll tell ya, it’s hard work and both a physical and mental struggle. There are times where I don’t put in as much effort as I should, I can admit that. But it’s my journey, and I know I will get there because I have so much love for this sport! 🛼❤️💪🏻
