The Secret Life of a Retreat Leader... a little peek behind the curtain of human-ness.
(Retreat leaders and biz owners - you are not alone in the chaos that precedes the uplevel!)
I'm no stranger to busting through the obstacles in my way for a greater purpose, to expand my kung fu space, to serve my students and coaching clients, to keep progressing and pursuing my 150 Husbands memoir no matter how long it's taken...
But every new expansion comes with its own insidious attempts to restrict and push back.
This new retreat venture brought on not just 1, 2, or 10 hurdles, but a meteor shower onslaught of what felt like hundreds of barriers, some potentially catastrophic.
But I did what I always do - I trusted alignment.
Emily Valdez and I went through so many shifts and so much growth in the two years we developed ELEVATE: The Retreat for women entrepreneurs, after concluding our last retreat with the private group we were involved with before.
At one point, we each even separately decided to let it go, but both times something happened right after that firmly planted our individual commitment in this vision.
Then there's the women - these ladies are incredible with huge hearts for the people they serve, and absolutely the right souls at the right time to join us for our first ELEVATE retreat. &Willow, Watson, Christine
With all of that motivating me, as I faced the wild challenges coming at me, there was simply no way when I had broken through 78 brick walls I was going to let the 79th stop me. Hell no.
And every moment of working with Emily and being at the retreat with these women was more than worth it - magical beyond every hope!
Looking forward, I'm sure it won't be perfectly smooth sailing, but the uplevel has occurred and any hurdles are just not going to be the avalanche they were this first time.
It feels so good to be on this side of the breakthrough and see how amazing ELEVATE was!
I can't wait for the next one in Sedona this spring!
