'Bike Parts" by son Philip decades ago.

Besides being a surgeon practicing in Portland, OR, son Dr. Philip is an accomplished artist, though he has no time for anything(!) other than being a doctor and a surgeon.

His room here at home is filled with his paintings and his paintings and artwork are all over the house. We love it.

Brochures from fifteen years ago.

Professionally designed by a friend and printed at a print shop, they unfortunately did nothing for us.

Our last three years in 2014, '15 and '16 Sand Creek Sports, Inc. I secured sponsorship cash income for the Ascent Cycling Series of $6,500 for each of those three years which exceeded Series expenses. We were in the black before our first entry came.

Ever since I first started producing and organizing bike races my sponsorship philosophy was always to raise 2/3 to 3/4 of the race expenses in cash. Also, never work with non-profits or committee's and to retain 100% control on MY! bike races. In 110 races produced and organized from 1991 - 2018 my races never lost money.

My money was made as a consultant and/or as an expert in bike racing lawsuit at well over $200/hr.

I am into classic vintage steel racing bikes pre-1984 and this past weekend attended a vintage bike show and Concourse d' Elegance in Parker, CO.

Shown here is master builder Rich Gangel's tribute bike of the 1972 Colnago World Hour Record bike used by Eddy Merckx.

Complete with a copy if the original build sheet this is the most beautiful bike I have ever seen. It's about 12.25 pounds and simply stunning.

Today at Adventure Cycling in the southern Denver area.

They have about 20 of the real bikes from back in the day. My day.

Here I am with a full Campagnolo Raleigh Team 531 bike.

We had so many stories.

I organized my first races in the mid-'70's north of Milwaukee and again begining in 1979 in Ames, Iowa with Kathleen and in 1984 organized one of the nine Olympic Trials Final Selection Qualifying races outside of Des Moines, Iowa.

As the first Technical Director for the US Cycling from 1984-1990 I was personally responsible for all US National Championships from 1985-1990. And, I selected the National Prestige Classic races from which our US National Teams came and I also personally approved ALL Race Permit Applications and signed ALL Race Permits and my staff approved race insurance for all races.

From 1991-2018 I organized 110 races here in the Pikes Peak Region from local series races to State Road, Criterium and Mountain Bike Championships as well as four races on the UCI International Calendar.

I designed the original risk management procedures and race applications and pre-event checklists which are still in use today by USA Cycling. I am a court approved expert witness at trial and in depositions.

I know exactly what I'm doing regarding bicycle race organization.

I no longer organize races.

I own the Trade Name, "Tour of Colorado."

With special thanks to Matt Benassi, The Front Rangers, SoCo Velo, my two Boys Matthew and Dr. Philip Bohlmann(Surgeon) and so many others.

The Tour of Colorado is probably the greatest race in the US never held.

The Tour of Colorado Trade Name is owned by Sand Creek Sports, Inc., Andy Bohlmann, President and the first Technical Director for the US Olympic Committee's National Governing Body (NGB) for cycling.

Our Event Director founded, owned and organizes The Tour of The Battenkill road race in the Catskills area of New York, at one time the single largest one-day race anywhere and the current Event Director for Iowa's RAGBRAI is our Tour of Colorado Event Director.

We currently have several gravel venues approved.

Sponsorship inquiries encouraged.

Risk management in bicycle racing first occurred in 1985 when the US Olympic Committee here in Colorado Springs, CO and it's National Governing Bodies (NGB's) underwent a type of risk management audit.

Back then the annual liability insurance premium for the US Cycling Federation (USCF) (pre-USA Cycling) was $25,000 for $1mil in coverage. This was extended to its member clubs when they organized races. However. the lawsuits and claims far exceeded the premium amount.

As the first Technical Director ever for the USCF I had access to this information on a daily basis, designed the occurrence reports form and received and processed the lawsuits that came into the office.

I became the first expert witness for bike race lawsuits and claims in late 1984 in a death lawsuit in Oregon where I gave a deposition and expert testimony in trial.

I edited the original risk management manual which was never distributed and the pre-event checklist of which a format is still in use today.

I have given depositions in numerous cases and expert testimony at trial.

The last thing a race organizer wants is a lawsuit and to have me
pick apart their race piece by piece which I have done many times.

I am only retained in cases involving a death or extremely serious injuries.

I am waiting for the first gravel race to get sued.
